Life Abundant

-John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
-John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Introduction

We are introduced to two people: The Thief (The Devil) and Jesus-or- the Hireling and the Good Shepherd.
-One takes away and the other gives.
-One brings destruction the other brings restoration.
-One brings death the other brings life.

Living for the World

What the Devil Tells You

Sin can look Pleasing. (Eve in the garden Genesis 3:6 “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes...”)
Sin can bring Pleasure. (Hebrews 11:25 “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;”)

What the Devil Doesn’t Tell You

Sin brings Sorrow. (Luke 15:11-21 “And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.”)
-The Devil stole his inheritance with decieving him into spending “all” and left him for dead with the hogs.
-THE DEVIL IS NOT YOUR FRIEND
Sin brings Penalty. (Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death...”)
REMEMBER THE DEVIL IS A LIAR AND A THIEF!!!

The Devil is decietful and a liar
-He plays it up like it’s all fun and when you realize the seriousness of your sin it may be you late.
-The Prodigal Son in Luke 15 was having fun, living it up; partying, gambling, drugs and alcohol. when his money was gone nobody wanted anything to do with him. It took him a near death experience for him to realize what he needed was to go back to the father
Living for the world is at the end, Lonely, Dark, Lifeless
Living for God you can rest assured knowing that you’re in his will with the promises that you can claim to have and ABUNDANT LIFE!
