DESECRATION

What would be the best question one can ask about desecrating the temple of God? For example, how does one desecrate the temple of God, or perhaps what is the temple that one has desecrated? Could it be understood as writing graffiti on the building known as the Church.

Supposedly, simple enough to enquire and understand if one knows what is the topic of the statement or question at hand? I suppose that many people when they read in the scriptures concerning the word temple they immediately understand or assume that it would be the building that is identified as a church or a certain building being talked about. For example in the beginning of our Lords ministry, out of godly wrath he purges the temple of the merchants and tells the Jews to destroy the temple, and he will rise is the temple in three days (Jo.2:16-21). On the other hand the true meaning was, is, and has seized to unfold; as it was to them it’s even the same with people now days, because the actual understanding is way off, and its because their understanding is carnal, temporal, and worldly. We that are spiritual have or should have the true understanding that when we read about the temple that is written in the word of God is oneself; just as Jesus was talking about his own body. The Apostle Paul clarifies this to the Corinthians in (1Cor.3:16-17) Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defiles [destroys] the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is Holy, which temple ye are.

In another words, but same understanding Paul later states to the Corinthians again not only as a question, but a statement with strong emphasis that they have become the temple of God and the Holy Spirit as well, because they were bought for a price (1Cor6:19-20) What? Know ye not that your body is the [a] temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have God, and that ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

As the passages were written to the first century Christians they are there for us to know and to understand that we should be pure, and holy as we were sanctify by the blood of Jesus. We therefore must not desecrate the temple that belongs to God for any reason; we understand that living in this vile flesh we still live in sin, but glory be to God for the act of repentance on our behalf and God granting forgiveness for our salvation.

So, in this very issue in which it all can only be applied to those who belong to him, and to the ones who have strong convictions and have decided to get baptized: all who are no longer of this world, who only walk in the light; because we have taken the name of Jesus within us, and this is established in (Rom.8:1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

Really, lets not be ignorant, or deceive ourselves people of satan’s devices we all know that there are certain sin’s that people do commit that does in fact destroy the temple of God; this would be the act of spiritual adultery. In the confines of spiritual adultery we notice that as a spiritual being anything and everything that is a sin, evil, worldly, and corrupted are against God; and if we keep committing such heinous acts; do you not think that this would make us guilty of desecrating God’s temple? I truly believe that if anyone who is guilty of such acts and goes without repenting is a spiritual adulterer; and perhaps that is what James is talking about when he wrote to all Christians in general; about this very same issue in (James.4:4)Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. If anything, we are reborn to please God and not men who are of this carnal world; beside can we ever please men for that matter. We all know just hard it is to please humans, and I truly believe that it can never be done; if we were to stop to think at the many times we have been in scenarios trying to please our bosses it appeared as we failed miserably, over and over, and time after time; it’s a never ending story. Well, in the book of Galatians Paul wrote to them in concerning the same topic of who; they as well as us need to please and serve (Gal.1:10)For do I know persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. As we notice that everything that I have said with the exception of the scriptures will be all contradicting to God’s plan of salvation; because as we know it that everything that is of this world is a contradiction. All I know is that we being son’s and daughter’s of God need to really be conscience of how we represent the ourselves before the world that is the outer man in order to be free from the guilt of reaching the desecration of God’s temple. At the same time we are also commanded not to love this world; because we know what is out there: misery, pain, and anguish that leads to nowhere but damnation, and this is revealed in (1Jon.2:15-16)Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of this world.

Now, I truly believe that having anything to do with this world, or with the life of this world is all vain and encouraged with irrational wisdom: as we know it or should know is that everything of this world is wrong, bad, and evil created by hatred and bitterness. One thing of importance, and that stands out among us: is that we as children of God will always encourage ourselves with strong emphasis; with having the knowledge that we belong to God through Jesus Christ, and again we were bought with a price! In knowing this I can not begin to fathom how anyone can desecrate the temple of God; and not care or wonder what is to happen to them at the end: relentless pursuit of nothing. Here is an exhortation of encouragement for the brotherhood; and this means we as true worshippers of God (1Cor.3:18-23).

One thing for certain, as I am sure that we all do not wish to be guilty of a willful sin, or better yet a deliberate sin; so we therefore do what we are supposed to do force ourselves to obedience; so that we will not be guilty of anything that desecrates this temple [our bodies] that was sanctified by the blood of Christ. The consequences are written for all to see; and there is an example that the author of the book of Hebrews wrote in (Heb.10:27-31). Lets look in to a specific act of sin that is carnal, and the actual act is the lust of the flesh; which is the depth of the act of fornication. This is perhaps the most deviant acts that one can be caught in doing; because its an ill mannered practice that the vast majority of the world is guilty of. There is a long list of words that fall in this category of fornication for instance:

2) lust 11)a lustful mind

3) homosexuality 12)covetousness

4) lesbianism 13)masturbation

5) pornography 14)evil passion

6) Child molestation 15)open marriages

7) indecent exposure 16)orgies

8) evil desire 17)self-indulgence

9) lust of the eye 18)debauchery

These are only a few that I wish to name although there are many others; which all who do commit these acts is guilty of desecrating God’s temple and is worthy of death (Rom.1:32)Who knowing the judgment of God, that they who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. If we were to look at what happens to those who commit adultery we would look no further than what happened to the incestuous person in (1Cor.5:1-7). Also in the same topic we can go to what our Lord Jesus spoke of adultery during the commencement of his ministry in (Matt.5:27-32). There is no way out for anyone who think they can get away with committing any kind of sin‘s that desecrate the temple of God; because without repentance and forgiveness there is nothing that can be done for such a person; but even more so to anyone who does it deliberately. Either we believe in what is written in the word of God or be as the atheist that are in the world; who only believe in their own irrational beliefs that allow them to commit any and all sins without any remorseful guilt.

Now, as for us in this area of study we need to be extremely careful; because we must always put to mind the passage of (Jam.4:17)Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin. Here is why I think is main reasons why we need to be very careful in backsliding against God: why loose it all for the lust of the flesh, and its self explanatory on how they as well as we need to be obedient to all the commandments and laws of God (Ro.2:11-23)this passage is explained with different text of the old testament and with the new; as it was for them then, and its for us as well: that we posses our obedience with extreme caution.

We can not doubt the fact that we have been warned many times over; and that every thing that is written in the word of God is all good. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave everyone a depiction of how and what would happen to anyone who returns back to the world in (Matt.12:43-45) When an unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goes he, and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. So, to end this lesson on desecration lets recall what Jesus said during his ministry, and this is very edifying and knowledgeable for us all (Mark8:31-38). Lets remain always prudent, always faithfully strong, and always soberly vigilant for our Heavenly Father thru our study of His glorious word; because we know who is out there (1Pe.5:8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. Who is for good sound advise “In the act of desecration, who do we think we are fooling, but ourselves. Lets not allow nothing to interfere with our Christian virtues and morals”.
