Matthew 12:22–30 NKJV
22 Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. 23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?” 24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” 25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

From Last Week:

Last week we talked about how the Pharisees where brought to jealousy by a question asked in verse 23.
Matthew 12:23 NKJV
23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”
We talked about How Jesus got a word of knowledge in verse 24 the test says, “He Knew their thoughts.”
We spent most of our time in verse 25.
Matthew 12:25 NKJV
25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
In spending most of our time in verse 25 I concentrated on how Jesus broke the size of people down.
He started with Kingdom.
Jesus moved from Kingdom to city.
The Lord moved from city to house.
I started in this analogy further than the Lord did, I started with self and worked my way out.
For me the progression works from the bottom up.
We start with not being divided in myself.
Then we cannot be divided as a house. Since I have no control over another person; the way I want to serve is by leading through serving my family. as the leader of my home, first I need to be a practitioner of my own faith. Next, I need to serve my family. After serving the Family, the Family together serves the Lord. As the family serves the Lord, it will include but not be limited to, the Church.
I didn’t get this far last week but, as we serve the Church we need to do so in unity.
Romans 16:17 NKJV
17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

This week:

1) The Power of Satan is Arrested in the Life of The Demon-Possessed Man.

Matthew 12:23 NKJV
23 And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”
To be sure, the battle is real!
most of it is not the devil, it’s the flesh that is so at ease in the world and that doesn't go against the enemy.
So when we come to applying the text; how hard is it to die to self.
sometimes when you feel spiritual it’s easy to see, in other times its harder. the flesh grows naturally and we are natural with it.
Romans 7:14–24 NKJV
14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
John 6:23 NKJV
23 however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks—
This is where we understand the renewing of the mind.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Ephesians 4:23–24 NKJV
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

2. Jesus has bound the strong man.

Matthew 12:29 NKJV
29 Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
The Lord has the victory.
Romans 8:37–39 NKJV
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
