Where is you study your word? Now me your word. Not return void. We love you and we praise you. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen, amen. Honoring God in your suffering that honoring God with your wealth but other than God in your suffering. The last week, we looked at honoring God with your well, but this one is going to look at honoring God in your suffering. See suffering is no stranger to most of us suffering is no stranger to most of us and if any of you have not experienced any suffering, I'll just say wait and make sure you listen today. So you'll be better equipped for next time. When you faced some trouble, some hardship in your life, then you'll be better prepared to attack. Those things that you would face in your life. Be suffering. Comes in all shapes and sizes. In all forms weather could be flu an illness. Some people are really struggling and suffering because of their illness or other peoples are suffering because of relationship. Having like a bad breakup specially you. When you don't have a bad, but you think that's the end of the world, it's not okay. It isn't that there's life. After a breakup K will be fine or if you get like a divorce, you've lost a loved one. Those things are things would bring great pain into our life. Is he losing like a friend or friend that just like stab you in the back, those things bring suffering or you having like some emotional problems work. See, all those things can be very taxing and tiring so this morning as we continue in our Series in book of gems. We are going to see that we need to honor God in our suffering. So let's read the text together and then we're going to break it down and then I will pick up some lessons for us to learn. Let's read it together. It says be patient. They are four brothers until the coming of the Lord see how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the Earth being patient about it until it receives the early and late Reigns. You also be patient, establish your hearts for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not Grumble against one another brother, so that you may not be judged behold. The judge is standing at the door. As an example of suffering. And patience Brothers. Take the prophets. Who spoke in the name of the Lord behold? We considered those blessed, we remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Jobe, you just read about and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. But above all Brothers, do not swear either by heaven or by or fall by any other of bread. Let your yes. Be yes. And your no be no and that you may not fall under condemnation, is the message in one sentence is a message in one sentence because we live in a fallen World. God will not write all. wrongs in the world until Jesus returns and it's always been patiently and do or And expect because we live in a fallen World, God will not right. All the wrongs in the world until Jesus Christ, returns, and Believers must patiently, endure and expect. Unfortunately, you have the Prosperity Gospel that tell you can live your best life now but unfortunately that's not what the Bible preaches. That's not what the Bible teaches. Very Godly people have done some very hard time and actually because you are a Godly you might be at Target so you get more things, come your way. So suffering for the Christian is normal stayed with me suffering for the Christian is normal. So if you hear anybody trying to tell you that hey you know if you become a Christian everything is going to be fine. They are lying to you. It is not true. It is not the gospel. They teaching you another gospel cuz very Godly people in the Bible went through illness. They suffered lust just like we do the great Apostle Paul wrote most of the New Testament, he was ill and he prayed, and he prayed and prayed. And he prayed to God and ask God, please take this from me. You know what? God's word to him was My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness CC suffering. For the Christian is something to be expected. So as we go through our texts this morning, see we will see that. We need to expect it in our life. That doesn't mean that suffering is great now. Okay? I'm sure none of you. If you had a choice to be exempt when suffering is coming, you would elect to have the suffering, come your way, right?

But Jesus says in John 16:33 says I have said these things to you. That in me you may have peace in the world. You will have tribulation, you will have trouble, you will have problems. But he says take heart, I have done what I have overcome, the world Christians are Overcomers because Christ has overcome the world. And now, if we are Christians with given our life in Christ, we abide in Christ and cries abide in us meeting we are believers. We are Christians then we also will overcome whatever come our way. Does that mean that every illness that I have? I'm going to be healed. No. Could it be? Yes, I can be healed but there are some illness that might take me to the grave. But even then I will overcome because Jesus came to die for us, then he was buried and then he was raised. So even if my illness would kill me, I will die like Jesus. I will be buried, like Jesus. And then what else? I will be like Jesus. So even when I am dead and I will be more alive than I have ever been. That is the gospel message. And if any of us here this morning, do not know Christ. That is the confidence in. That is the assurance that you can have that. Whenever you die. You live. This Earth. Hayes you. Your life just getting started. That is the hope that we have in Christ and that's why we are not afraid of anything. That comes out our way, look at Jim's 1. Verse 225. We're steady several months before. What does it say about our trouble? Download all my brothers and sisters brothers include sisters. Also when you meet Trials of various kinds of they come in all shapes and forms.

For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. So the Bible is saying, try y'all's problems. Hardships are good for us.

Oh, you don't like this. It is good for. Your realized when you faced some trials, you learn some serious lessons. Then when everything is going well, do you learn much? But too much cuz he's already great. What is it that I have to learn what I don't have to change when everything is going great for me. But I'm going to try, I'll come you always one problem cuz you're wasted forces you to change. So it forces you to learn some lesson. And that's what James is telling us. Hear it produces steadfastness and less than Fasteners, have its full effect that you may be perfect. See God has a plan in your trials, God has a plan for your suffering that you may be perfect and complete lacking. Nothing. Is he God wants you to be fully equipped and that's why we have trials and verse five. It says he fit any of you lacks wisdom. Let him ask of God would give generously to all without reproach and it will be given to you. So God is sitting in your trial in your problems. What you need to do. Most is actually wisdom, not necessarily Deliverance. Oh, Lord this morning about a trials about suffering. So first of all, gyms looked at the former, if you look in your text, it's talking about the form of the farmer has giving us an example about the pharmacy. Let's learn from the farmer about sufferings. This is be patient, therefore brothers, or until the coming of the Lord. So remember, God will not make everything right until Jesus Christ return. So in the meantime, until Jesus Christ return, we going to have problems. So because of those problems, he says, we need to be Patient. That was giving us an example of the pharmacy says, see how the farmer way for the precious fruit of the Earth being patient about it. That's the second time you see the word patient until the three C's the early, and the late Rings, some places they have to rainy season, one in October and November and another in April and May, that's what it means there. By early rain, October, November and Lake Rings 8th, April, or May. and then he says, you also be Patient. How many times three times already? Okay, be patient, establish your hearts for the coming of the Lord is at hand. So God, Jesus can return at any time. So here jams is telling us a you going through some hard time. Think of the farmer. Nothing grows overnights. So, you have to wait and that's what the farmers have to do farmers up to be very patient. Here's the thing about the farmers. When is bad weather, they might lose their crop. But do they give up and not twins? They still plant, they still do their parts. See when it says waiting here, that doesn't mean that you just go sit on your rocking chair. Like we do in the South and then just bouncing back and forth you having the feeling of motion but you never really moved. Can't hear it. When James is saying wait you still got to work okay, you still got to do something but it says like a but you got to be patient. Don't think that whatever you going through right now is going to be taken care of overnight. You did not get there overnight for the most part. They so problems. Sometimes they going to last longer than we want them to last. So here, James talk to us about the farmer. Look at the farmer. One of the quality of the farmer is that they are patient and their patient because they have no control over the weather. They may plan their crops and then the weather comes in too much rain, will ruin the cross or no rain at all. Will also ruin the kraut. But they still patiently plow and plant seeds so that they can have a harvest. I love verse 9. Verse 9, says do not Grumble against one, another brothers, so that you may not be judge whatever you usually do when we have problems. Blame shifting would like to blame it on somebody else. It's not my fault. It is someone sues for my parents fault in the way that they raised me. They didn't prepare me for this. Hey my kids make you'll never say that K or you say that it is a friend, you know, somebody they just they were not there for you. You always want to blame it on somebody else. And if you don't let my problems. you know, you don't want to take the credit for the problem, you always want to Put it on somebody else's. That's why Jim says, do not Grumble against one another. So that you may not be judge and I'm here. You see what it says? Do not Grumble against one another. What does it say? Brothers and inverse 7. What do we say is be patient. Therefore Brothers, remember verse 126 you was using example, of people were not Believers and now starting in the 47. So nobody can say is that delivers does not go to trouble because he's calling them. Brothers K do not Grumble and says, so that you may not be judged Behold. A judge is standing at the door. The guy think, it's not your business to be judging other people. God is the judge See patients, then calls us to be patient. Patient means to stay put and stand fast when you'd like to run away. Have you ever felt that way? You're going through some situations you don't want to stay fit. You just want to run away. That's what it means to be patient. You stayed with you stand fast. Even though you liked, you get away from all this. I remember, this is a friend of mine. I used to live in a town, not far from here. And then they went through some very difficult times. And there was like a big flood in and then, you know, he's always got flooded like, really bad and I went to help him, you know, just salvaged what we could Salvage and, you know, fixing some stuff and I'm about some points as I was helping him in and he just got tired. You said Jose, I just wish I could just take my car and just started driving away away and just forget about it. All just I don't even think that I had this house right here.

But now he's leaving in his house, okay? That same house that was flooded. See patients. You stay put standfast even when you feel like you want to run away. Here's the thing. When you're waiting you do what is in your control while you wait? And you are not concerned about the things that are outside your control. Does the farmer have control of the weather? They don't, but they still have to plow and plant. The better because people need to eat K. So that's our part. We got to play our part. You see good things are worth waiting for how much you glad that the farmers kept Clinton even with an extra about the weather. Cuz otherwise we would not be able to eat then. There we go. We, they still get a harvest the second thing. So, not only, he looked at the farmers, but he also give us an example of the profits, you see if that was a Jewish Origins, when you say profit, they all would understand what James is saying there now. But if you remember all the prophets in the Old Testament, most of them, they went through great suffering. Remember Daniel, what did they do to Daniel? Put him in the lions den. Moses the people of Israel Driven Crazy all the time, and that's why he himself, didn't make it to the promised land, because God told him to speak to the Rock. But why did he do just drag the work instead? Because he was so tickled with the people? Because the people would never do what is right. The verse 10 says, eyes on example of suffering. And patience Brothers. Take the prophets. Who spoke in the name of the Lord. You see again, that's when we know that godly people suffers. He says, the prophets are using them as an example of what. A well as an example of suffering and patience. So the prophets had to exercise patience and the prophets went through some stuff. I'm taking this all the godly man in the Old Testament. See so Christians do face, Trials of every kind of Jesus said in Matthew 5, verse 10 to 12. It says, blessed are due is really, really blessed. Are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Do you want to go to heaven? Get some persecution

See, now this is not to say things like you need to go to self inflict on problems into yourself now. Okay, that's what the text says, but Jesus is just saying that a people face trials, were persecuted now that self-inflicted trials now, or one of us, bring problems into ourselves that has nothing to do with God. That's when you are persecuted for what righteousness sake. That means for your walk with Christ, because of the way you walk with Christ, that's why you were being persecuted. It says, blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and other all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account, have you ever had people speak falsely about you? Rejoice and be glad for your reward is great in heaven for. So they did what persecuted the prophets we were before you. So we'll Christian is a problem. You bet, we will have some problems as Christians. Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet Jeremiah even wrote a whole book about it called Lamentations in the Old Testament. That means whipping. Set up office was always there always that tears in his eyes. Look at what he said in Jeremiah 24:7 290. Lord, you have deceived me. Honest, be right there. I've never felt like that God has betrayed you. As the sea view that seem talking to God. Oh Lord. You have deceived me and I was deceived. You are stronger than I and you prevailed. I have become a laughingstock. All the day. Everyone must mean. Have you ever been marked? You are in good company. Call. Whenever I speak, I cry out, I shall violence and Destruction for the word of the Lord has become for me. A reproach and the vision all day long. I if I say, I will not mention him or speak anymore. In his name, there is in my heart as if it were a burning fire, shut up in my bones and I am weary with holding it and I and I cannot

This is a two opposite, the man is going for trial, but at the same time, I cannot stop talking.

That's the Christian Life. A we going to have a hard time but we still got to do right. It will be difficult and challenging but we still got to do, right? He's what Jeremiah saying that? God tricked him, because look at the call and Jeremiah's life in horse 1:5 before I formed you in the womb, I

God is saying that you are my aunt. Before you were even born, I knew you pal. That's why we believe in whole life. That's why I boyfriend is never right. And before you were born, I consecrated you. I appointed you a prophet to the Nations Before you come on this Earth, You Were planned. You were already designed before Jeremiah ever stepped foot on this Earth. God already knew him before he was even in the room and before you were born, consecrated him for his work and appointed him to be a prophet. So Jeremiah think you are pointing me to be a prophet. And now this is what I'm getting. Nobody's listening to me. That's why Jeremiah says a guide you tricked me. You think we may be in the will of God and yet still suffer some lessons for us. We may be in the will of God and yet still suffer. Preaching can also come with the persecution as we saw for the prophets preaching. Can also come with persecution. Second Timothy 3:12 indeed. All who desire to live a Godly life in Christ will be persecuted. So if you desire to live a Godly life, you will be persecuted. Life will not always be Rosy. Obedience to God. Does not automatically me produce. He's and pleasure, obedience to God does not automatically produce ease and pleasure. God still cares for us when we go through suffering. What? Kinds of suffering. The ones we go for his sake. I love the way that Neil T Anderson puts it, the will of God will never lead you where the grace of God cannot keep the will of God will never lead you. Where the grace of God cannot keep you. So, whatever God calls you to do. However, hard. It is. Guess what? His grace will keep you. So why hardship? Our patients in times of suffering is a testimony to others around us. Is he our message and need to be lived out? We can tell somebody that we are Christian, we are Christians, but if it don't see it, when our actions, then there's no message. So really when we are showing patients, we essentially sharing the gospel. What when we go in for a hard time and we not destroy what we actually sharing the gospel because people get to see the message lived out. Our patients in time of suffering, is a testimony to others around us and then lastly, he gave us the example of Jobe, he gave us the example of Jobe, he gave us the example of the farmer to be patient and then keep working the example of the profits too. Even though they persecuted but to keep speaking for God and now he's giving us the example of Jobe invoice. 11. It says, behold we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. That means you stay constant you stay consistent while you being persecuted cuz you have heard of the steadfastness of Jobe. And you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how our the Lord is compassionate and merciful. What was compassionate about what Joe blind fool. You just read the story in one day. The men pretty much less everything that you can think of a job. He lost all his children in one day.

If you even lost one child, even though you had 13, this is still a big deal. One is already too many. The man and one day, I lost all his children. I don't think you can find anybody in the Bible that suffered more than Jobe or anybody in this life, they would suffer more than Jobe lost all his children lost all his wealth to his health deteriorated.

Sores all over his body. Pretty much, you can say, he lost his wife because his wife told him to turn your back on, God and die the brightest worse than it. Why don't you commit suicide?

His friends, misunderstood him. How do you feel when your friends misunderstood you? How do you feel when the person that is supposed to be closest to you, turned out back on you?

How do you feel that? You know, you cannot even fall asleep because of an illness because of the sickness because you just like suffering. But that's what Joe Bob went flew. He lost it all.

That's the worst part. He did not do anything wrong. A lot of times we have our problems, we bring it up when our self, but not Joe joeb did not do anything wrong. And the other thing. Joe, but no idea what was going on in the background between God and Satan. Pretty much guys, making a deal with Satan, and look at my job, there's no way you can turn him away from me, because his faith is strong. Can God make a bet on you? Saying that a, a look at this first. You cannot do anything to him. This. Nothing that you will do. That will, that will make them lose their faith in me. See, God was making a bet on Joe because Joe was the real deal. And then look at verse 12, it says better love all my brothers. Do not swear. It feels like this versus like just drop in there in the middle of nowhere. Either by heaven or Earth or by any other of but let your yes, be yes. And let your no be no. So that you may not fall under condemnation related cuz when your fertile in to trial, you tend to do what?

You tend to say things, you don't mean. Are you trying to say things that?

You know, you wish you could take back.

But James is saying 8. When you go for your child be consistent. When you go through your tire trials, be truthful. Let your, yes. Be yes. And let you know, be no one is talking about swearing there. It's not talkin about profanity or saying bad words. Now you still should not say bad words or profanity. Okay? Because in confusion this is like no corrupting talk come out of your mouths but only what is useful and helpful but here it's at. Let me start talking either about like if you go to a courtroom, you cannot take on off at some believes that that is totally fine. But if you have somebody every word that comes out of their mind, as I swear to God, you know, I'm telling you the truth. If they keep having to do that all the time there's some character flaw somewhere. Why do you have to tell me that I swear to God, I'm telling you the truth. That's why James is telling us you just saying hey let your yes be. Yes if you say something you don't have to say that I'm telling you the truth. So you telling me everything else you were telling me before was not the truth. Virginia, same gate as Christians. Let our yes, be yes. And let our no be no. So, some life lessons for us to take away when you fall, when life is painful, be? What do you think? Be patient when life is painful be patient. And when life is, Painful be productive. Can I give you a bunch of keys here? So you can remember when life is painful? Be patient. When life is painful be productive? Remember the farmers, did they keep working even when the next you about the weather. So you need to be productive, then you need to be persistent. When life is painful, you need to be persistent the job, change that his character change. A joke. Remain the same and the prophets did the prophets persistent. Did the prophets continued in telling the word of God Farmers continue to plan? Kept his faith up. So, when life is painful, you to be patient, productive, persistent and pure, let your yes. Be yes. And your no be no. So there should not be any slipping in your character. So, when life is painful, you need to remain pure and, lastly, you need to remain prayerful. He was not explicitly in the text. But next week we will be standing about prayer. So out, I had it right there for you. In Romans 12:12, he says rejoice in Hope be patient in a hard time and the constant in prayer. So, if you're going through a hard time right now, remembered those five P's, and if you've never experienced hardship, be prepared and be equipped to know. When you face your trials, to be patient to be productive to be persistent, to be Peter, to be prayerful. And then, one last B, remember that? When you walk with God, there's always purpose in your pain. There is always purpose in your pain so you need to trust the process. So I give you two more p.k. There is purpose in your pain. Trust the process to this one with me. When you walk with God there's always a purpose in your pain, trust the process amen. All right. Remember job? You went to all that stuff. Guess what? Remember when Jose and verse 12 it was saying that it was like to show God's mercy. Angel's life. You've got the mercy enjoyed 42%. Look at what happened to Joe bendien and the Lord restored, the fortunes of Jobe when he had prayed for his friends and the lord gave Joe what Thrice as much as he had before. You see a lot of us, we want to give up in the beginning. But we never read the back of the book. You see job here. When somebody would look at his life when he was sick, when every turn by the temp, turn their back on him, the finger jobs life had ended. But God had a plan to see, that's why there is purpose in the pain. And look at verse 12 and the Lord, bless the later days of Joe Moore.

Remember when you read Job chapter 1, how many battles that Joe had? No, look at here. He had 7000 the beginning. How many does he have 14000? 6000 Campbells, 1000 yoke of oxen, and 1000 female donkeys. Don't make a decision in your present circumstance. This too shall pass, whatever you facing now. It is not the end. God has a plan for your life. That's what? Jeremiah 29:11. I know the plans I have for you, they are plans to give you a future and to give you hope so whatever. We may be facing Christians can let ever be hopeless because we have a God who always up to something good, he always has a land. The message in a nutshell is God will never cause you to suffer needlessly like the former we need to keep working. Like the profits we need to keep witnessing and like job we need to continue to remain steadfast and consistent no matter how are trying the circumstances maybe. Because God is always in control, Galatians 6:9 defenses and let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season. We will reap. If we do not give up, so then as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone and especially to do is more of the household of faith and look at what Jesus says to. His Jesus says behold, I'm coming soon. Bringing my recompense with me to repay each one for what he has done. So, whatever trials, whatever problems you may be facing right now. Chill out. Jesus got you, amen. Father thank you for your grace this morning. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your mercy. Thank you for teaching us this morning. So father help us whatever trials whenever problems, whatever difficult times, that we may be facing. Alpine Slide guy to remain steadfast help us to be patient. Help us to be productive. Help us to be persistent, help us to be pure, help us to be All that you have created us to be.

You help us to be prayerful instead of losing hope in our trials for you. Say Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication, let our requests be made known to you and you say that your peace. Which surpasses all understanding. Well, guide and guard our hearts, can you? The father be with each one of us here, may we find purpose in your pain and may we trust the process and know that you always always always have a plan. Thank you, Father, for your Amazing Grace. In Jesus name, we pray Amen. Amen. Why don't you stand as we sing this last song together? Why don't you stand?

Bless the Lord. Oh my soul.
