End Time Prophecies

2 Timothy 3:1-9KJV

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Verse 1 Last days perilous times shall come – Times that are hard to bear, hard times, bad times.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

People are today turning here and there constantly looking for another way to turn never finding what they want!

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

(1 Timothy 4:1KJV)

Many no longer have the same “zeal” (enthusiasm, passion) they used to have!

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

(Matthew 24:12KJV)

Verse 2 men/people have become -

1. Lovers of their own selves – Selfish, self centered thinking of themselves before God or others

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

1. Covetous -  Lovers of money and possession (Often poorer people thought they could get out of this one simply because it was taught lovers of money) but possession no matter how pointless can cause a person to lose salvation

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1. Boasters – empty pretenders Braggarts we have them in the church and we don’t think about them

  They boast of what they have or what they can do they have a close cousin called pride! But the  main thing they have in life is called Vanity!

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

Their Vanity gets them nowhere!

14 Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

(Proverbs 25:14KJV)

1. Proud – Conceited, arrogant they put themselves above others

3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

(Galatians 6:3KJV)

People wonder why they don’t feel the presence of God why aren’t they as close to the Lord as they used to be

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. (1 Peter 5:5KJV)

1. Blasphemers are often thought of as only foul language but it is more than that as well slander, insult, revile are also just as much blasphemy!
2. Disobedient to parents

11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. 12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. 14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

1. Unthankful

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1. Unholy
2. Without natural affection
3. Trucebrakers
4. False Accusers
5. Incontinent – undisciplined uncontrolled
6. Fierce
7. Despisers of those that are good.
8. Traitors
9. Heady
10. Highminded
11. Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God
