The Familiarities
The Familiarities
Reminding Peter of Who He is With and Without Jesus
the sea of Galilee, poor fishing, recasting your net, miracle, abundance, juxtaposition between Peter’s hastiness to act and John the Beloved’s Spiritual awareness, the smell of the coals, bread and fish (communion and feeding the 5,000), his third appearance, three denials/three confirming statements
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Didn’t I just give you enough to worry about??
Only love for the Lord will be enough to sustain us through the great commission (Not competition with another, not an inner drive to do-good, and not even hate for evil or satan).
But, thank God for all his grace, patience, and mercy with EACH of US!!
Fortunately, Peter did go on to be exactly as Jesus had predicted, the rock upon which He built His church as a major founding father along side Paul and the many others who took the Gospel into the world as instructed.
And if you remember earlier I said that there was room in that boat that night for two misfits like you and me; and according to scripture there still is because Jesus is still calling people unworthy, unqualified, and imperfect just like me to love him 100% and to join him in His mission.
