Salvation Wisdom

1 Peter 1:1–25 (NT:TOG)
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the sojourners that are dispersed through Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, in order to obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace be to you, and peace be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, has, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, regenerated us for a living hope in respect to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for us, who are kept secure by the power of God through faith, to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time: in which you rejoice, though now for a little while, since it is needful, you are in sorrow under various temptations; that your faith, when proved, being much more precious than gold, which perishes though it be tried by fire, may be found to be for praise and honor and glory, at the revelation of Jesus Christ; whom, though you have not seen him, yet you love; on whom not now looking, but believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Concerning which salvation the prophets that prophesied of the grace that should be for you, did inquire, and search diligently, inquiring what things, and what time, the Spirit of Christ that was in them did signify, when it testified, beforehand, the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them; to whom it was revealed, that, not for themselves, but for us, they ministered the things that are now preached to you by those who have made known to you the gospel, through the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; into which things angels desire to look. Wherefore, gird up the loins of your mind; be watchful, and hope constantly for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ: as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the desires which you formerly had in your ignorance; but as he who has called you is holy, so be you holy in all your behavior: because it is written, Be you holy, for I am holy. And since you call on the Father, who, without respect of persons, judges according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear: because you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver or gold, from your vain mode of life received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without spot and blemish, who was indeed foreordained before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times for you, who through him do believe in God who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God. Having purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit, to unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently, having been begotten again, not with corruptible seed, but with incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass; the grass withers, and its flower fails away: but the word of the Lord abides forever: and this is the word which has been preached as gospel to you.
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, in order to obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace be to you, and peace be multiplied.
We Must get hold of wisdom and understanding. Elect means chosen in this passage. We get hung up when pastors and teachers teach this. We are chosen by GOD to walk in God and we can choose God and Jesus as our savior to walk with our TRIUNE GOD. It is hard to explain except when it is explained as agreement between us and our Triune God. There is where the covenant begins this agreement of “ You are God and chose me to a subject in your Kingdom. I am a human who chooses you and accepts that you are my God and King. Therefore I am in your domain, under your protection and provision as well as being subject to you to obey your laws and decrees. I live in obedience, authority, citizenship and faith under my Gods Dominion; We are in Agreement and Covenant
We are called to God by God, and we are in agreement with God by faith in Jesus Christ Gods son who is a cornerstone of our Covenant of faith with our God. Jesus the Son of God whose work at the cross and resurrection.
Salvation: This doctrine describes what Jesus did in order to save us from sin and give us eternal life with God.
Jesus accomplished our salvation by becoming a man, by suffering and dying for us, and by raising us to new life in and with him. His work of salvation began in eternity when he purposed with his Father to accomplish our redemption. In his incarnation, he brought the promise of salvation into the world. The substance of his earthly ministry was to proclaim this salvation, both by his teaching and by his actions, including his many miracles. Those who recognized what he was doing and who worshiped him as Savior were told that they were “saved” (Mark 16:16), even before his death and resurrection, because they believed the promise that he brought with him.

Talking point: Salvation is a powerful agreement with God
Having purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit, to unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently, having been begotten again, not with corruptible seed, but with incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.
We have too forgive according to Jesus for Father to forgive us. Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses.”
Love-agape: Agape Christianity The Greek term for divine love as opposed to worldly love, it can be directed towards God, Christ or fellow Christians.
(Logos 10 factbook, Agape)
Matthew 5:3-12 “Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness; for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful; for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are they that are persecuted on account of righteousness; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say every evil thing against you, falsely, on my account. Rejoice, and leap for joy; for great is your reward in heaven: for so did they persecute the prophets who were before you.”
Talking Point: Love one another from a pure heart fervently
Wherefore, gird up the loins of your mind; be watchful, and hope constantly for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ: as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the desires which you formerly had in your ignorance; but as he who has called you is holy, so be you holy in all your behavior: because it is written, Be you holy, for I am holy.
Exodus28:36 ““You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD”
Holiness- qadash: Holiness refers primarily to the quality of God, denoting his transcendent apartness from the rest of creation, his uniqueness, and his total purity. When the term is applied to people, things, or places that have been touched by the presence of God or dedicated to God, it connotes the idea of being set apart for God and thus belonging to the realm of the divine, which is morally and ceremonially pure.

Talking Point: Wisdom to be Holy. Because of the Revelation of Jesus let us in obedience behave and build our behavior in holiness as wise loving children.
