God's Justice
God’s Justice
Psalm 19:9
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether
Psalm 92:15
To declare that the LORD is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him
Rev 16:5-7
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:
“You are righteous, O Lord,
The One who is and who was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
And You have given them blood to drink.
For it is their just due.”
7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
If you know God, you know that He is absolutely and perfectly Just!
What do we mean when we say JUSTICE?
In scripture we find that Justice is indistinguishable from righteousness! Justice can mean both uprightness or rectitude. Turn to Psalm 89:14
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
Mercy and truth go before Your face
When we see the word Judgement in scripture, usually it refers to the application of Justice to a moral situation! Weather it is Favorable or Unfavorable
God applies Justice to the moral situation which a man’s life created. If the man’s ways are righteous then Justice favors the man. If the man’s ways are unrighteous then God sentences the man!
*We MUST recognize that justice is NOT something God Has, Justice is something that God IS! An attribute of God!
Let’s review the condition that we find MANKIND IN: Romans 5:12
12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
Genesis 3:17-19
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake;
In toil you shall eat of it
All the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you,
And you shall eat the herb of the field.
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.”
22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
The Apostle Paul sums it up in Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God had a plan! Romans 5: 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:8-11
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
