840If there be any one point in which the Christian church ought to keep its fervor at a white heat, it is concerning missions. If there be anything about which we cannot tolerate luke warmness, it is in the matter of sending the gospel to a dying world.—14.220
Charles Spurgeon
Specify the Apologetic Topic.Tell the Topic’s Significance.
The Ministry of Christ is our Ministry
The Spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions, and the nearer we get to Him the more intensely missionary we must become.
Henry Martyn
The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me
to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set free the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
He then rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.
Jesus when He walked this earth ushered inn a new ministry that Had never taken place in the History of the world.
Explain the Biblical and Rational Position.
Jesus ushered in the ministry that is anointed by the Holy Spirit.
You know the events that took place throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.
Jesus was anointed- The Spirit of the Lord was upon Him to do the works of God- which is to set captives Free, Bind broken Hearts, set oppressed people free
John said He saw the Spirit decent and rest on Jesus at the Baptism
This anointing led Him to operate in Power and set free all those who were under the tyranny of the devil
Practically Apply for the Hearer.
The Great Commission is our call to continue in the Ministry that is empowered by the Spirit and to do the things that Jesus Did.-
Evangelism is Spirit Filled
Then he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”
But when I speak of missions, I am thinking of the multitude of activities that God’s people can engage in, by means of which they participate in God’s mission.
Christopher J. H. Wright
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The Spirit empowers believers to be a Witness

God’s motivation for sending Jesus
For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
God so loved that He gave
But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus came to seek and save the lost, He empowered His church to fulfill the mission, because He still loves this world, and He has established the Church, His body, empowered them with Holy Spirit to complete the work of evangelism!
He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
The Spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions, and the nearer we get to Him the more intensely missionary we must become.
Henry Martyn
The Closer we get to Christ the more we love our neighbors and have the heart of Christ for them
