Self-Exploration: Who Am I? What do I like to do?

When I was in high school, I went through all kinds of phases. I played golf, I got super into metal music for a while, I tried to be a nerd and a jock and a skateboarder. When we’re younger, we’re all just trying to figure out who we are.

And there’s a popular idea in our culture today that this quest to find our true selves is the most important thing we can do. I need to free myself from what other people expect of me, from the voices of others telling me what to do and when,

Here’s the problem: That’s doesn’t work when you bring other people into the mix.

Becoming a new parent…identity crisis…my whole life has been taken over by this weird looking ball of baby fat and poop. And I’m like sorry, bud, but my true authentic self does not involve changing 7 diapers a day, so you’re gonna have to cool it.

Maybe you’re in a job you don’t really want to be in or a relationship that’s harder than you anticipated or

We wonder, who am I if I can’t do everything I used to do, if I can’t be who I want to be. But

When I Lose Myself in God, I Find Myself in Serving Others

Now you are a slave to God
