1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3rd anniversary
When a pastor is satisfied, and the people is satisfied, it makes a real good church, and then God is satisfied. And I think, to see them satisfied together, especially in this day of the Message that we’re carrying, I think that shows the continuity of the Message with the people and with God. 65-0815 — And Knoweth It Not
Jesus ministry was exactly three days old when he attended a wedding in Cana.
He was there because He was led of the Father.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
He’s here this morning on purpose, not by accident.
In other words, He said this: “I can’t do nothing ’till God shows Me what to do, then I do that. Nothing else I can do.”
Then Jesus Christ never performed one miracle until God told Him to do it, till he had a vision, God telling Him. He said, “The Father showeth the Son.
Whatsoever things the Son sees the Father doing (‘sees’ the Father ‘doing,’ present tense), then He goes, does it just like the Father said.” 53-0606 — An Ensign
His first miracle took place at a wedding for a reason.
Jon Courson’s Application Commentary Chapter 2
In Jesus’ day, Jewish wedding celebrations lasted for one week, during which time relatives and friends would stay in the home of the bride and groom—sort of a honeymoon/family reunion/bachelor party/wedding shower all rolled into one! During this seven-day celebration, the bride would be tucked away in a secluded part of the house and would not be seen by anyone but her groom. At the end of the week, she would emerge with great fanfare and celebration.
See, it’s Son of man, Jesus Christ, will come down in human flesh among us, and will make His Word so real that it’ll unite the Church and Him as one, the Bride, and then She’ll go Home to the Wedding Supper. Amen. She’s already united, see, we go to the Wedding Supper, not to the marriage. 64-0816 — Proving His Word
At some point in the middle of the festivities, the wine had run out.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
This was a crisis for a family of that time. The water wasn’t any good, there wasn’t any canned soda, their guests enjoyment at the wedding depended on the wine.
The wine was the life of the wedding.
Satan has always tried to control the spiritual life of the church.
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
The antichrist spirit had made church a transaction. A Quid Pro Quo. (Something for something, this for that)
John Tetzel
“As soon as the gold in the casket rings; the rescued soul to heaven springs”
The joy and spiritual life of the people was not based on the finished work of Christ at Calvary, but on what they could do for the church.
“His balances, or his scales, in his hand,” you see. Calling out, “Measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny.” See, actually, that is, wheat and barley is natural staff of life. That’s what bread and stuff is made from. But, you see, he was charging for this.
What it means, that, he was charging his subjects for the kind of the hope of life that he was sending out to them, by making…He started in that very time, of making them pay for prayers, charging for prayer. They still do it; novenas. 63-0320 — The Third Seal
Oil types the Spirit, Wine types the Stimulation of Revelation.
When the Truth of a promised Word of God has been truly revealed to His saints that’s filled with Oil, they all get stimulated. Wine is a stimulation. Glory! I feel It right now. Stimulated with joy, shouts!
And, when It does, It has the same effect upon them that wine does upon a natural man. Because, when the revelation has been given, of a Truth of God, and the true believer filled with Oil, and the revelation is revealed, the stimulation becomes so great that He makes him behave hisself un-normally. 63-0320 — The Third Seal
This is what happened at Pentecost.
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
This had to be scriptural.
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, And drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; Line upon line, line upon line; Here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue Will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; And this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
This is the wine that’s poured out. What is wine, in the Bible? Refreshments. “This is the refreshments that comes from the Presence of the Lord.”
So, you see, wine represents stimulation of revelation. And when the Holy Ghost fell, and they seen the Fire of God fall upon them, my, that begin to stimulate them.
And the first thing you know, they got so stimulated till the people actually thought they were drunk, but they were stimulated by the revelation.
God’s vindicated revelation, made plain to them, they was happy about It. God promised it. Here it was revealed to them, and vindicated to them. Amen!
Here was a man standing there, saying, “This is That! This is It!” And there It was, being a vindicated by the same sign that we have today. 63-0320 — The Third Seal
Oh, how wonderful! Revealed! Revealed! They become so stimulated when they seen it vindicated. That just always does that. It always does.
When I see that God promised to do a certain thing in this day, when He promised to break off these Seals in this last day! And you don’t know the joy, the glory, when I seen Him reveal this, stand there and watch it happen!
And know that I’ll take any person, to charge: He never did say one thing to us but what happened that way. And then to see the joy that’s in my heart, when I see His promise for this last days, as He promised to do it. And here I see it vindicated and made perfectly right.
You hear me say, “I feel religious.” That’s what’s the matter. The stimulation is so bad, I just about ready to go to cutting up, you know. Stimulation, from revelation!
They become so stimulated, over the revelation, that they vindicated, all right, the promise. Now, oh, my! There broke out the joy of stimulation, till the people said, “They’re drunk on new wine,” when God revealed His promise to them. And not only did He reveal it, but He proved it. 63-0320 — The Third Seal
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
This isn’t my wedding.
The wedding could have gone on just as well with a bunch of dry, thirsty people, but the Word would not allow it to be that way.
Now notice then when His Presence is near, It, certainly, It brings emotion. As I spoke this morning, “Anything without emotion is dead.” And any religion that hasn’t got some emotion to it, you better bury it, it’s dead. It brings emotion. He quickens us.
But when we are quickened, let’s remember What quickened us. What did it? It’s the Presence of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ in our midst, showing Himself that He is alive. 64-0321E — The Voice Of The Sign
The Angel of the Lord accompanies the message always. 59-0611 — The Time Of Decision
Oh, the greatest pleasure I know of, is to be to pray until I can realize that I’m in the Presence of God, and recognize it.
I think that ought to be the thrill of the Church, is the Presence of the Holy Spirit; seeing the God that made the promise standing among us, feel His Presence and see His Word, and see It vindicated.
It ought to give faith, to make cripples walk, blind see, deaf hear, dumb speak. 64-0618 — The Presence Of God Unrecognized
The servants had to carry out His commands at the wedding.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
They were not responsible to make the wine, they were only responsible to carry it.
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
And, today, the most of the people don’t want a man that’ll stand and tell the Truth about it. They want some little Ricky with a Hollywood haircut, and perfume all over, and walk right up here and talk about some theology that he learned off in some cemetery, or seminary.
Excuse me. It’s all the same place, the home of corpses, so then we find that everywhere. They want something like that. They don’t want the old-fashion Gospel handed out in the power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost anymore. There is something wrong.
We need a testimony meeting, a great thing to happen. We need a prayer meeting. We need a digging down, tearing up. It’s true.
We need Christ back in our midst, know the Bible. We’re just drifting looser and looser, all the time. We need to come back to the original foundation, come back to the place, the rock that we was hewed from, and start over again. 63-0607 — Be Not Afraid
It is the responsibility of the ministry to carry the stimulation of the revelation of the Word, not in their arms, but in their hearts.
It might get difficult, but touch not the oil and the wine!
But I’m not a preacher. You still carry the Gospel.
What the Church is slack in today is testifying of our great powerful Jesus today. We try to limit Him, try to say, “Well, He was and—back yonder.” But today He’s the same that He was then.
And the Church, who’s got a vision of this and knows it ought to not be slack at any time, but telling everywhere they go “Jesus lives and reigns,”
(Shunammite woman)
And if there’s anything that we ought to be, is kind to one another. When you see a brother or sister in fault, don’t never breathe it to nobody.
Keep it to yourself and pray for that person. Be kind to them. And if the Spirit of God is in you, then you will be kind to one another. Jesus said, “I come to do Thy will, Father.”
And we are about the Master’s business as He was about the Father’s business. And the same Spirit that He had to begin the works of the Father and to finish the atonement, to make a way that we could carry the message, if that Spirit’s in you, you’ll have that same attitude towards people:
trying to do what you can to help them, no matter who they are or where they are. You’ll try to help people. Amen. That’s kinda strong, but that’s truth. 56-0128 — Inspiration
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Faithlife Study Bible Chapter 2
two or three measures All six jars would have held 120–180 gallons. Large quantities of water were needed for ritual purification.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
What was He going to do with water?
I’m glad I got faith in Him tonight, that someday when my life, my body with its sixteen elements will be back in the dust of the earth.
But He will say, “William Branham,” and I’ll come forth. He will breathe the breath of life into it, say, “There you are.” He will bypass the birth of through my mother, and so forth.
Like Jesus, on His first miracle, He turned water into wine. Eventually it would have been wine, but He bypassed all that procedure, and said, “Turn the water to wine.”
At the resurrection, He will not say, “Mr. and Mrs. Branham get married again and bring forth William.” He will speak, and I’ll come forth. Amen. That’s Him. He’s God. 62-0120 — The Unchangeable God Working In An Unexpectable Way
By the Spoken Word He bypassed the process of the water fermenting.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Did you notice? When He went to make water into wine, He took water, first; an already created substance, and turned it into wine.
When He fed five thousand people, He took a fish that once swam in the water, broke it, hand it out, and multiplied creation. He took bread that was once wheat, baked into bread, broke it and hand it out to the people, and it returned back again. Multiplied creation!
But in the last days, where there is no sign of creation, He speaks it into creation, anyhow, shows to be the same God that was in the beginning. He can create squirrels, He can create whatever He wants to, because He is God.
“Greater things than this will you do, for I go unto My Father.” The Word is infallible, and It has to be manifested and has to be fulfilled. “Greater than this shall you do,” not multiplying, but speaking out into creation. 64-0119 — Shalom
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Greater things. Someone will not even taste death.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
What if they had been stopped on the way? they had a job, and they did it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
Most people would begin to mix the wine with water towards the end, but not Jesus.
The best wine was being drunk at the time the Bride was to be presented.
She had been hidden down through the ages, but now she is married, and she is introduced to the world as Mrs. Jesus Christ.
I hope that the Church truly understands It, what I mean, you people. I’m going to call you Bride, see, that You’ll understand It. 63-0318 — The First Seal
The Bride has been introduced.
We’re not living in a Pentecostal age, we’re living in another age. See, we’re not living in the Methodist age, we’re living in another age. We’re living on up here to the Bride age, the calling out of the Church and getting It together for the Rapture. That’s the age that we’re now living. 65-1206 — Modern Events Are Made Clear By Prophecy
When the Bride age is here, the Bride has come out of her chamber, there must be a new wine.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Conclusion.
Conclusion.
Are you tired? Weary? Cold? Indifferent? The Word has provided new wine. Come and Drink.
