Hebrews 10:19-25

19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near

v.19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,

boldness—“free confidence,” grounded on the consciousness that our sins have been forgiven.
This confidence produces the character of a mighty man and woman of God
Providence( protective care of God), Courage, Divine anointing, Mighty exploits, Leadership skills, Someone who can uplift and encourage others going through humanities emotional struggles
holy places = God’s Presence
Ephesians 3:11-12 “This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.”
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”
Matthew 26:28 “for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

v.20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,

the veil—As the veil had to be passed through in order to enter the holiest place, so the weak, human suffering flesh (Heb 5:7) of Christ’s humanity (which veiled His God head) had to be passed through by Him in entering the heavenly holiest place for us; in putting off His rent flesh, the temple veil, its type, was simultaneously rent from top to bottom (Mt 27:51). Not His body, but His weak suffering flesh, was the veil; His body was the temple
John 2:19 “Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.””
Exodus 26:31-33 And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy.”
The jewish historian Josephus said the veil was four inches thick, and that horses tied to each side could not pull the veil apart.
moreover, Aaron’s sacrifice foreshadowed the perfect sacrifice of our Great High Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary. As long as the veil in the Temple was unrent the true sacrifice had not yet been provided. However, when the veil in the Temple was torn from top to bottom it meant the true sacrifice had been offered up to the Lord God and accepted by Him as the perfect offering for sin.
Matthew 27:51 “And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.”
The blood on the Veil changed the throne of God from a throne of judgement to a throne of grace
The veil represented the humanity of Christ
The body of Jesus was a “veil” that hid the inner glory of His deity

v.21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

one who is at once king and priest on His throne
Christians not only have liberty of coming but a way wherein, and a help whereby to reach home to God
Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Hebrews 3:6 “but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.”
Jesus is our high priest and king constantly interceding on our behalf
Psalms 24:8-10 “Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah”
Ephesians 1:21-23 “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”
God isnt moved by your feelings He’s moved by your faith
during this time the Jews were being drawn back to judaism the writer wants them to know to draw close with full assurane
pure heart not like annaias and sohpirah
we’re talking a know so salvation
how many times have you felt distant because of your guilt or sin
we have the Holy Spirit working in our lives clearing our concience
sprinkled from—that is, sprinkled so as to be cleansed from
Believers, as priests to God, are once for all washed in BODY (as distinguished from “hearts”) at baptism. As we have an immaterial, and a material nature, the cleansing of both is expressed by “hearts” and “body,” the inner and the outer man; so the whole man, material and immaterial.
The baptism of the body, however, is not the mere putting away of material filth, nor an act operating by intrinsic efficacy, but the sacramental seal, applied to the outer man, of a spiritual washing.
1 Peter 3:21 “Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,”

v.23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Colossians 1:27 “To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
James 1:6-8 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
prayer and fasting to remove doubt
doubt doesnt mean you loose your salvation its not unbelief
The promise is from the Father!

v.24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near

v.24 This talks about responsibility
how easy it is to become selfish, and prideful
the disciples were constantly trying up one another
how can we encourage one another?
just be faithful to all that He’s called you to and let your life be a living testimony to the good works that we’re calling one another to
warning to forsake not the assembling together
