TS: Let us examine a few explanatory truths together, now.
NOTE: Remember the last point from verses 12-13? The Law increased awareness of the sinfulness of sin. Now, Paul explains the impact of the law in daily life. If the law increased the awareness of sinfulness of sin, what does that mean for practical life?
The law is of a different nature than humans. [vv. 14-15]
Law = spiritual; humans = flesh.
Consequently, humans realize the difficulty in understanding the law.
The law cannot produce change in humans. [vv. 16-20]
Consequently, humans cannot do good by it.
The law exposes an inner battle. [vv. 21-23]
Consequently, humans acknowledge the weakness of the law to save.
Consequently, humans acknowledge information alone is not the answer to their need.
The law demonstrates a greater need. [vv. 24-25]
Consequently, humans need to trust Jesus to meet their need for salvation.
