What is Innerhealing?
What is Innerhealing?
Introduce myself (local hub leader, certified forerunner, certified innerhealing consultant.
Innerhealing is the process of ministrering to the heart of a person. It is the process of being cured from emotional, mental, and physical pain as a result of past experiences.
There are clinical components of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as other therapy techniques such as physchodrama and more.
Innerhealing is a short term counseling model which is solution, rather then coping based. Driven by the power of the Holy Spirit, to heal and deliver the receiver.
Innerhealing is centered around encountering Jesus, through true repentance, prayer, renewal of the mind, development of healthy habits, and allowing the Holy Spirit to take over to heal wounds and deliver the receiver from bondage.

Made In the Image of God
Made In the Image of God
Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
We are created in the image (representatives in hebrew) of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
* So why don’t we look like it?
Colossians 3:10 (NKJV)
and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
* Revelation
Ephesians 4:22–24 (NKJV)
that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ignorance causes us to walk in darkness, and we do not walk in the identity that God has given us.
Renewed in the mind, you need healing for renewal to happen in the mind.
Wounds cause cognitive distortions.

TRAUMA AND DAMAGED IDENTITY
TRAUMA AND DAMAGED IDENTITY
TRAUMA
TRAUMA
Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event or experience.
** Official defintion of trauma: Anything that happens to you that causes you to feel uncomfortable.
When trauma happens you do not need to become traumatized with the proper help and support.
We can experience events where it is past our natural capacity to heal emotionally, mentally, or physically.
CULTURE
CULTURE
We can experience trauma not knowing it is trauma because it is part of our culture in our community, family, religion, and sphere of influence.
Example, it is “normal” in your family to yell and scream in conflict, to use exessive physical force to discipine children, it is “normal” to speak constant negativity, it is normal to abuse substances, it is normal to be depressed etc. You grow up believing this is normal and do not realize it was wrong or toxic.
RESULTS IN:
WOUNDED MEMORIES
WOUNDED MEMORIES
Pain is connected to the memory
Each wounded memory can contain its own set of demons
Memories cannot be erased but they can be healed
Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV)
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;
And I will not remember your sins.
Philippians 3:13 (NKJV)
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Genesis 41:51 (NKJV)
Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: “For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.
Genesis 45:7-8
And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Joseph didn’t forget because he still greived later. But the memory, did not hold him.
WOUNDED MESSAGES
WOUNDED MESSAGES
Pain in ingrained in the messages
Cognitive distortions/lies/false belief system
According to CBT, your belief system drives your emotions, which drives your behavior.
Changing behavior without changing your mind will not bring lasting change.
What message is connected to the emotions your feeling?
Romans 12:1–2 (NKJV)
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
WOUNDED IDENTITY
WOUNDED IDENTITY
Your identity is how you see yourself
Negative perception of yourself, others, and God.
Rejection is rooted in self
You begin projecting
Ephesians 6:14–17 (NKJV)
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
When you look at yourself are you worshipping God (your made in God’s image) or are you worshipping a distorted image of yourself.
You can’t seperate how you see yourself from how you see God.
-and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
We idolize false images of ourselves and in turn. Build a God in your own image.
Your seeing trhe devil that comes as an angel of light not seeing Jesus.
Know yourself to know God. *
John Calvin~ our wisdom consists almost entirely of 2 parts, the knowledge of God and ourselves.
Augustine~ How can you draw close to God when you are far from your ownself?
Psalm 139:14 (NKJV)
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
Knowing yourself and knowing God work in conjunction.

An Emotionally Immature and Wounded People
An Emotionally Immature and Wounded People
Explode
Implode
Numb
We can’t regulate our emotions in a healthy way. Emotions need to be released. Energy in motion.
Christians are afraid to feel. “Feelings can’t be trusted”.
We turn into empty shells with a mask.
God feels, delight, regret, deep trouble, fierce anger, every lasting love, kindness, sorrow, distress, joy.
Insert scriptures.
You deny your humanity and being made in God’s image when you deny emotion.
Can you identify how you feel? God speaks through feeling. God speaks through pain.
To be emotionally mature we need to:
Acknowledge our emotion
Grade our emotion in intensity
Validate (does not mean agree)
Release in a healthy manner (or becomes trapped)
Gain a new perspective if needed (renewal of the mind) (decide what to do with it, reflect)
Return to joy
We lie to ourselves because we think it is wrong to experience negative emotions. It is what you do with it. We fall into denial and deception. We fall out of reality. Faith is not denying everything going wrong and praising. Faith is acknowledge and confronting what is going on. Faith is based in truth in reality. When we are in denial we are in a false reality.
Running from God thinking we are running to God.
This affects our relationships with people. Unable to show empathy, connect with the emotions of others, unable to handle conflict, we are trapped in our own world and reality.

Going Backwards, to Move Forwards
Going Backwards, to Move Forwards
Numbers 14:18 (NKJV)
‘The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.’
Generational curses are a problem.
Leviticus 26:39–40 (NKJV)
And those of you who are left shall waste away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands;
also in their fathers’ iniquities, which are with them, they shall waste away.
‘But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,
God himself tells us to go backwards, to move forwards. Confess (acknowledge) the sins of your ancestors.
What is worse then a generational curse, is a generational pattern. “which are with them”.
ABRAHAM, ISSAC, JACOB:
Abraham lied about Sarah
Issac amd Rebecca’s marriage what characterized by lies
Jacob lied to everybody and was named deceiver
10 of Jacob’s children lied about Joseph
Abraham favored Ishmael over the promise
Issac favoured Esau
Jacob favoured Joseph and later Benjamin
Issac and Ishmael were were cut off from each other
Jacob and Esau were cut off from each other
Joseph was cut off from his brothers
Abraham had a child out of wedlock with Hagar
Issac had a terrible relationship with Rebecca
Jacob had 2 wives and 2 concubines
*****
We don’t only have generational curses, we have generational learned behaviors and patterns.
Everything is established in childhood. We learn from our parents and do it to our kids.
The victim becomes the victimzer.
Generational wounds, hurt, rejection, lack of emotional support and availability, lack of empathy, lack of healthy spirituality, lack of healthy relationsips.
Break the pattern to break the curse.
If God has told us to go so far back as to deal with our ancestoral history, how imporant is it that we also go back through our own history?
Time does not heal. Time festers and grows wounds.
We are told to always forget the past but if you are not healed from the past you will be held in bondage by the past.
Demonization
Demons come in because it becomes part of you are
John 21:15–19 (NKJV)
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”
And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”

Becoming Real, and Real Repentance.
Becoming Real, and Real Repentance.
Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV)
He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Confession in the greek means to acknowledge, profess, and confess.
Repentance in the greek means to:
Metanoein: change one’s mind, change direction, or turn back (non emotional)
Metamelein: remorse, anguish (emotional)
True repentance is based on faith and changing one’s mind.
How can you repent without acknowledging there is a problem?
1 Kings 19:4 (NKJV)
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”
1 Kings 19:13–14 (NKJV)
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”

Power of Imagination
Power of Imagination
Dianoia- imagination
Yetser- imagination
Dialogizomai- intellectual thought and reason
Ephesians 1:18 (NKJV)
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
We walk by faith not by sight. Faith is your sight. We need to see by faith.
What you are imagining is/becomes your reality.
Genesis 6:5 (NKJV)
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Psalm 103:14 (NKJV)
For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
Yetser. Imagination is the same as physical.
Your imagination is reality to God. So much so that we are judged on our imagination.
Matthew 5:28 (NKJV)
But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
The imagination is more reality as opposed to what you see in the physical.
Genesis 11:5–6 (NKJV)
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
KJV says imagine to do.
They saw it by faith.
There are demonic perversions.
Psalm 139:16 (NKJV)
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
See the word of God by faith. Meditate on the word day and night.
Jeremiah 1:11–13 (NKJV)
Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?”
And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?”
And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.”
What happens in innerhealing. They are seeing by faith. They are using imagination to tap into supressed memories.

Release, Renewal, Made Whole
Release, Renewal, Made Whole
Emotions trapped result in a person who is unbalanced emotionally.
Instead of regulated emotions around a 5-7. You are a 0 or a 10.
Studies have proven that 80% of illness is connected to mental and emotional distress or stress.
Emotional trauma not only affects your mind and emotions, but impacts you physically. You can become ill and even die from unaddressed trauma.
Open doors to cold/flu, diabetes, insomnia, liver disease, head and stomach pain, heart disease, and even cancer.
Bioenergetic therapy theory believes that pain can be held in various parts of the body. As a result it can manifest physically through sickness, sleep disturbance, muscle tension, and other manifestations.
When you don’t release pain, it becomes trapped in your body. Energy in motion.
happy > laugh
fear > scream, run, or hide
anger > aggressive actions
hurt > cry
It must be released especially through crying. Catharsis (a strong emotional release which leads to relief and a positive change).
Matthew 12:34 (NKJV)
Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
God would rather have your honesty then your hypocrisy.
Psalm 6:4–9 (NKJV)
Return, O Lord, deliver me!
Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?
I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.
Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
Luke 22:42–44 (NKJV)
saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Your already in sin if its in your heart, release it so you can actually repent.
After the release comes true repentance and renewal of the mind
Psalm 42:11 (NKJV)
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
He released, then got up, encouraged himself, remembered the things of old, and set his mind on God.
God provides a SAFE place to talk about your trauma, how your feeling, to express and release what your holding, and provides comfort enabling you to return to joy.
