DECLARATION:

Ephesians 2:20–22 (ESV)

20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

SVCC is built by God, upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone.

We are joined together by union with Christ, we are growing, and we are a dwelling place of God by his Spirit.

WISDOM or not?

Do NOT seek wisdom of this world!

1 Corinthians 2:4-6 “4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.”

Examples of wisdom of this world:

Self-promotes

Seeks the highest place

“Love is love” - no love is Jesus dying on the cross in our place, so that those who believe in Him can be dead to sin and alive to God. (We want to see people SET FREE by the power of God)

Seek the wisdom of God

Proverbs 22:17-21 “17 Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge, 18 for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips. 19 That your trust may be in the Lord, I have made them known to you today, even to you. 20 Have I not written for you thirty sayings of counsel and knowledge, 21 to make you know what is right and true, that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?”

1 Corinthians 1:20-24 “20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Submits to the Word of God and the empowering, transforming, and leading of the Holy Spirit.

Learn to Speak with Wisdom

Proverbs 29:11 “11 A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.”

Eph. 4:29 “29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

Eph. 4:32 “32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
