Kintsugi: Jesus, The healer of the Broken
Notes
Transcript
We have had an awesome week. I thank you for allowing me to share The word of God with you. I hope you will take these lessons with you the rest of your life.
6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly.
7 I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.
28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Did any of the people in our story have easy lives? No But can we agree all agree that they had a pretty awesome life. They witnessed God transform them. They saw God do miracles. They witnessed God take the impossible and make it possible.
In fact if there life would have been easy would we even no about them today?
Each one of our lives is a story that is being written. In each of our stories there will be similarities with the people we read about this week.
You say pastor Brett how will my life be similar to these people?
You will have good times and you will have incredibly hard times.
But in many ways you get to choose how your story ends. Just like these charachters from the Bible. Each of them chose to follow God with everyting they had. Each of them decided they know longer wanted to be broken and they wanted God to put them back together again.
Will your story end with God remaking you and using you or will it end with you rejecting God’s love and still going through the hard times but without the strength of God using it to shape you.
Jesus never promises us that our life will be easy but what he does promises that those who turn to him will never be alone. That he will use whatever comes our way. And that he will give us joy throughout it. So my question for you to take with you tonight is this? Will you allow God to take, heal, and shape you. Will you allow the part of God’s word you have heard this week to cahnge you. Will you choose Jesus?
