Life in the Body of Christ leads to Thankful Worship of God.
This section is full of exhortation and instruction. In fact there are two
Obeying God’s direction leads to peace and thanksgiving.
Follow the Leader
Follow the Leader
Recognize the leadership in the church. Men, God has called you to lead your homes in following the Lord.
If you are a follower then show respect toward those that are called to lead you.
Fellowship in Peace
Fellowship in Peace
We are called to peace, because the Lord Jesus has made peace for us! Peace in only possible when the entire family is cooperating together.
Warn - instruct and admonish those who are out of line. The unruly are literally those who will not line up in battle arrangement. Some Christians are like toddlers who keep stepping out of line.
Comfort - encourage and console those who are fearful. Rom 8:31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Hold Up - help and support those who are weak. Either spiritually or physically. The Bible defines a weak conscience as those
Be patient - God is still working on them, just as he is still working on you!
Don’t return evil for evil - Overcome evil with good!
Focus on Thanksgiving
Focus on Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving and prayer go hand in hand.
Rejoice always - God is at work in your life. Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Pray continually - be in an attitude of constant fellowship with the Lord. Start the day with prayer and allow the events of the day to drive you to the Lord.
Give Thanks - This is God’s will, a thankful heart.
