Psalm 57
Psalm 57
Our purpose here on this earth is to glorify God. Here in this Psalm the writer is desiring that God get the glory that he deserves and that his glory would overflow into all the earth. What a beautiful picture of desire that we get from the psalmist. He is wanting the thing that God put us here for. Not that he needs it from us but it is an honor to us to get to give it to him.
In your life do you ascribe God the glory that he deserves? Do you live like your purpose is to glorify him? We should desire that Gods glory be over all the earth and we should do our part in that by glorifying him over all the earth. John Piper says that “God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in him.” That means that by us finding our complete satisfaction in God we are bringing him the most glory. The deeper we look into this quote the fuller it becomes. When all our satisfaction is found in God be live a certain way and act a certain way. It changes who we are.
We should all desire to see God’s glory over all the earth and we should fulfill our purpose by glorifying him everywhere we go.
