I LOVE TO PREACH ABOUT MONEY, BECAUSE GOD HAS BEEN SO FAITHFUL TO EVERY PROMISE HE HAS MADE TO ME ETC… Intro talks too much about money, I haven’t, but today I want you to know that this message is 19000 percent about giving to God, disclaimer I’m also 19000% going to tell you without apology about something that I did for God, but for 2 very important reasons, to give God glory, and to encourage you to grow in your faith

Mark 4:20 “And those are the ones sown with seed on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundred times as much.”” don’t highlight AND here

Bout sower and seed, vs 20 immediately follows vs 19 and i think today’s message addresses those hung up in verse 19 which are described as those who are concerned with the worries of the world, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desires for other things, and they are unfruitful, because the Word of God has been choked out of them by these things.

Cap city can you handle some real talk this morning. I sat down with Allison last year after we got here and I had looked at the church budget, and I said the church probably isn’t going to make it through the year if something doesn’t give. On paper cap city… we weren’t going to make it here financially without a lot of changes taking place, and from that thought process, God led me into the reality that if we were going to be here we were going to have to be ALL IN…

That next week I was reading in Mark 4:20 and saw 30 60 AND 100 fold

Now I know for many of us when we learned or read this passage in the king james version it says some return 30, some return 60, and some 100. And I know that when I read this passage back in July of last year, I remember saying to God I see the and, but I’ve always read it as either/or. To which God replied to me, do you see me as an either/or God or a both/and God? This morning you can call Him a 30 fold God, a 60 fold God, a 100 fold God, or a 190 fold God, but if your investment is zero, the multiplier doesn’t matter, the first multiplication principle that all of us learn as children is that anything times zero equals zero.

$10,000 x 190 =$1,900,000

We’ve start settling in on the sale of hope central and the total kingdom output from hope central between the completed sale, the pending sale, and the assets brought to cap city are 1.9M. Now some of you that are trying to out think me will say that $1.9M was already part of the kingdom, and your right. That’s because it all already belongs to God, but when faithfulness, obedience, and surrender are taking place that’s when God moves his investments to were they can be capitalized on it most!

And hear me this morning I know it’s not all about my investment, because so many others have invested into this story as well. But when God brings forth fruit, you want to part of the blessing of knowing that you helped sew into His Kingdom

Preaching has been thought often that it returns to us, In otherwords I put a dollar in the offering, where’s my $30 check in the mail, but the return is much greater than that, the passage doesn’t say it will come back to you but instead it bears fruit through the expansion of HIS kingdom

In this case we saw it directly happen financially, but the fruit that comes forth spiritually is even greater!

However you want to cut it God brought 1.9 million dollars to cap city church and that’s a blessing in and of itself but those who invested in faithfulness and obedience experienced a blessing above those who did not

It’s not about what I did, but about how God responded

God’s blessing surrounds those who bless God

I just told you a story about how after Allison and I were ALREADY faithfully tithing for the entirety of our marriage, and individually before that, but when we went above and beyond, God still outdid us! You might not see the return financially, he might return it in the healing of your babies, or the saving of lost souls. He called the over-concern of money the root of all evil, so the more of it you give away, the less you’ll be tempted by it.

Let me dig in a little more this morning. We say we are praying in faith, but when we don’t give to God, we are telling him we have more faith in money than we do in Him. (REPEAT) Can we really make an argument otherwise? What happens is…

People confuse faith with hope, Praying without doing is hope, but praying in faith requires action, Praying in faith without acting in faith is wasted words. Let me show you the difference between hope and faith this morning…

Hope is believing that God can restore your health, faith is eating healthier, exercising, and doing what the doctor says

Hope is believing you will have enough money to pay the bills, FAITH is paying your tithe and Knowing that God will make a way.

Hope is believing that God will reveal His plan for your life, Faith is continuing to grow closer to him so that you can hear what He’s already saying

Hope is not strategy, but acting in faith is THE strategy for the Christian.

IF STORY, HAVE TO CONTINUALLY DEFLECT/MAKE IT ABOUT BEING A LIVING EXAMPLE

Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Can I talk to those of you who are Christians here today and don’t bring a tithe into the church. And I hope you believe that this is truly from my heart. My heart breaks for those of you in the church that might be praying for a breakthrough from God and are not giving as God commands. You are missing out on an overwhelming flood of blessing in your life. It may not even be financial, in fact I hope it’s not. I hope it’s health for your family, healing for your body, salvation for those you love. Why on earth would you not want to give God the opportunity to bless you?! The money you spend on vacation isn’t going to save your babies, the new vehicle you buy isn’t going to fulfill your loneliness, and the big screen tv isn’t going cure your anxiety. Stop giving the money that belongs to God to the devil. OH BUT GOD! Wesley on stage.. $10 ice cream a few minutes ago, dads wallet? And $10 back.. He said TEST ME, Go ahead. I thought about where we here this in today’s context… If God would talk like this He would say go ahead, come at Me BRO, but He’s not saying in a tough guy way, He’s not saying it in an arrogant way, He’s saying go ahead and give me your 10%, and see if I don’t THROW OPEN THE FLOODGATES OF HEAVE AND POUR OUT SO MUCH BLESSING THAT YOU WON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. WALLET, don’t know how much didn’t plan this til this morning, but God is doing that with your gift that quick and more elaborately everytime, you just might need to open your eyes to it (Jesus to Judas???)

Let’s address a couple specific ideas. Parents Teach your children to tithe, if you don’t you are effectively draining the future of the ministry. Jacob talked about generational faithfulness if you don’t teach your children to give, there is no future Cap City. Parents teach your children to tithe. And how about this, children if you make money and your parents don’t tithe then maybe you could set the example, and you could teach your parents to tithe.

Maybe you struggle to give here? Indy westside interim, hesitation with biggest bonus. Giving to God not thornhill, if you call this your home church, if you consistently hear the word of the Lord spoken here, if you call this church your church family THIS IS YOUR STOREHOUSE that you’ve been CALLED to give to. Jacob bethel todays reading burnt it up as to say I don’t need 10% as an offering to say I trust in you more, burnt up! Our tithe is a statement of His sustenance. REPEAT

What if they don’t believe one story, what if they say i’m never just going to drop 10k. Just this morning, God told me to look back to a story from a few years ago 135,000, 19000% of 710?

God’s doing a miracle in your life and He can’t release it because your withholding tithes from Him.

I’m not preaching this so the church will have more, I’m preaching it so YOU will have more. God took what we gave, multiplied it, caused it bear fruit within his kingdom, and guess where i get to hang out? Right in the middle of it! You can say well Jonathan i didn’t give $10,000 and I’m here today, or Jonathan I don’t tithe and I still get to be here today, but because I obeyed the voice of Spirit I got to experience a 19000% God. You can read about a 19000% God, you can hear about it, but when you experience the 19000% return on investment, The way you follow and listen in the future will forever be changed! Psalm 24 says that all that is contained is the Lord’s anyway, will you not put it before Him so we can experience Him here at Cap City Again and again, and again, and again.
