Introduction
We live in what classical authors would call tremulous times. It doesn’t require very close analisys to realize that at least half of the world has lost it’s collective mind. How then are we, the people of God to react to all of this? In hopes of answering this question the title of this sermon, with appologies to 007 is “Never Shaken, Always stirred.”
In Acts 2:25 David said
For David says concerning Him:
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
We need to keep our eyes on Jesus and not be shaaken by the silliness going on around us. In Hebrews 12:27-28
27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
And in Hebrews 13: 5-6 Paul says
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
