Psalm 100 ESV

Responding to God’s call to ask for His will - Prayers, supplications, intercession

SURRENDER

In the Bible the two most common words for “worship” are Shachah (Heb) and Proskuneo (Gk). Both these words in the Old and New testaments respectively have at its heart a bowing down and laying down of self in God’s presence.

Surrender is the way of worship. It is other-centered…specifically God-centered. It is a deliberate lowering of self in view of God’s holiness.

God is the consumer of worship, not us.

OVERFLOW

Personal worship was meant to overflow into meaningful public corporate worship because heart is developed in secret not in public.

Public worship is meant to encourage and grow deeper revelation in personal worship

THE GATHERING

John 4:23–24 ESV

23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Why do we gather?

A holy convocation- a call to assemble God’s people

eklesia - the called out assembly

Unleavened Bread - Purity, Righteousness

First fruits - Resurrection

Weeks-Pentecost - Renewal

Atonement - Repentance/ Restoration

Hebrews 10:25 ESV

25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Deuteronomy 31:12–13 ESV

Ephesians 2:18–22 ESV

KEEP THE TESTIMONY- Treasure His Word and His Works

Joshua 24:14–15 ESV

14 “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness.
