He will withdraw His manifest presence when He has been grieved and offended.
Ephesians 4:29–30 NKJV
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Grieving is connected to sin and quench deals with stopping the flow or power of the Spirit in our life.
Corrupt = bad quality, decayed, rotten, refuse, rancid, worn out, stale, harmful, and worthless.
How many have seen the dead dear on the side of the road.
Examples of corrupt communication:
Lying, Gossip, Slander, Coarse Language.
What about Gossip: Parents how do you feel if someone is talking about negatively about your kids and its not corrective and beneficial. Even if it is true but not in love. I wonder how God feels when we gossip about His kids.
Our speech should be kept clean and truthful, but we should also speak only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs.
Colossians 4:6 ESV
6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Words that edify:
I am extremely proud of you!
These are words that we should readily keep on hand.
Saying it once is never enough.
And it doesn't have to be a big event. It could be something as simple as doing their chores cheerfully. Or if they are grown you can say I’m proud of the man or woman you have become.
No matter what life brings, my heart is always with you.
No matter what the household brings we need to let our kids know that we are there with them and that we love them.
Lets not assume they know that already but speak it over them over and over and over.
You are one of the best gifts that God ever gave me.
God makes it very clear that children are a heritage, inheritance, a blessing, a gift from the Lord.
You can say that God blessed me by bringing you into my life.
You are wanted. Your no accident, tagalong, or extra baggage around here. Your life has meaning from the very beginning.
Life and Death are in the power of the tongue. When we are living under the Law of the Spirit of Life we will speak life instead of death.
Proverbs 18:21 ESV
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
