Pattern—After This “Manner”

a. Fatherhood is about “pattern setting.” Fathers should set the example for the rest of the family in every aspect of life.
b. Leadership is about being out front. Story of a little boy who admired his Father. He wanted to be just like his dad. One snowy morning, dad went off to work and the little bot followed him. Dad walked to work and boy followed in his footsteps. Dad stopped by local bar on his way to work. Little boy also stopped by because he was following dad.
c. Question for dads: Where are you leading your children?

Praying

a. Defined as Communication with God/Father
b. The text assumes that Fathers will pray. vs.7 “when” you pray. Praying and fatherhood goes hand and hand.

Participation “Our” Greek “E’go which means (I, We) this is where we get our english word ego. It give the idea of me first. Joshua said, “As for me and my house...”

We—Every Father should seek to make sure every member of the family is in relationship with God. OT Fathers were responsible for the instruction of the children in the law of the Lord.

Parenting--Father—Pater (Par-te-r)---Male Parent

Presence---Are in Heaven (Prayer is your entrance into heaven itself)
