God’s Testing
God’s Testing
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
A. There is a misconception here for many Christians. Some see this that they will not struggle, that they will never face adversity, but is NOT what it says.
B. In Hebrews, we see that Abraham was in the act of offering Isaac his son. It says this:
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son,
C. Abraham was blessed because he obeyed the command of the Lord.
James 1:12 “12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

What Did God Do?
What Did God Do?
A. Verses 11-19
B. God saw Abraham’s obedience
C. God provided the sacrifice.
Note here that the sacrifice was provided but it was not the lamb. It was a Ram. It was not time for the lamb’s sacrifice at this time. The Lamb’s sacrifice is what Jesus did for you and me!
Revelation tells us this;
12 saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”
