Why is it that so many areas of life it feels like we are not winning?

Who do you want to become, and what is one habit you can start and what is a habit you need to break
So why are you not winning? You have been trying too long

Paul is talking to the Church in Corinth where they hosted the Olympics.
The events that would take place were
running
jumping

Wrestling
boxing
These events were done every 4 years
but every 2 years there were local events call the Isthmian games
that did many of the same events but added poetry
So when they were reading Pauls words they were really paying attention
Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
These athletes trained with crazy discipline

Wrestlers
they trained at the hottest part of the day
and in the snow
they would wrestle bulls horses and lions
These men were serious about their sport, they were not trying to win, they were training to win
Scripture never tells us to try to be Godly
Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

I was trying to read the Bible more but______
I was trying to be more positive but these people were just so mean to me
I was trying to eat better but I had a bad day

When I trained Bjj I got all the gear
I got the gi
the rash guards
the bag
the shirts
the shorts
When I went to compete I got the plan
I trained 6 days a week up to 4 hours a day
I went to clinics
I watched videos
I talked over stat. with coaches
I worked on my attacks
I was not TRYING, I was training
If you want to be closer to God, have more faith, see change YOU NEED TO STOP TRYING and start training

Start listening to worship music
PLAN
make Sunday Morning a priority
Start serving
Find a Bible reading plan
When You TRY, you give up when it gets hard or you don’t feel like it
When you are training you do not act on feelings you act on commitment
When you’re an athlete, competitor, disciple of Jesus your Fighting something that matters, vision, goal, dream, assignment.
Trying, without training is unthinkable
So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

Based On Who You want to become, How are you going to train?
When I was doing Bjj there were a few moments that really showed when my training was being done
When I had a Black Belt complement me on my technic and tell me he had problems with my attacks
When I got a medal
but the one that stood out the most is when I got this belt.
But the hardest belt to get is the white belt because most people do not even try.
If you want real life change, you have to stop trying
to read your bible
to pray
to help others
to serve
