Grace. The gift given by God that he would see the people He created us to be before He sees the sinful souls we actually are. When we calculate our sin, we can only determine that we are wholly undeserving of God’s love. Yet, amazingly, He does so anyway. Our transgressions aren’t written in a book passed down and translated into new languages for thousands of years. And most of us haven’t come close to the atrocities that Saul, who became Paul, has committed. In many of his writings, Paul admits his crimes and then tells us how he came to know Christ, who called him to participate in God’s Kingdom work. If you think you are too rotten to be forgiven, Paul is proof you are not.
