Read Psalm 93
Psalm 93 ESV
The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty! Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.
Has there ever been a time that you were truly humbled in your life?

Explanation

Psalm 93:1-2 “The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting.”
The Lord reigns
We could stop and meditate on this for awhile.
God reigns, and His reign will never end.
Even those who would thwart God’s plan cannot ultimately undermine Him, and any power they have been given comes from God who allows them a shortened authority for a season so that His glory might be revealed.
He is robed in majesty with strength as his belt.
When have you felt most in awe of something in this world? Imagine not being able to even catch your breath at the sight of God.
There has never been a more magnificent, elegant, or powerful being in the history of the universe.
He has established the world which shall never be moved.
God is creator, and everything else is created.
“He’s got the whole world in his hands.”
Nothing is established that God himself has not established.
God’s throne is established FROM of old. He is FROM everlasting.
There has never been a moment that God has not been.
We have not been, the earth has not been, and time has not been. God has never not been.
The independence of God - God needs nor depends upon nothing.
Which one of these statements brings you the most hope? Why?
Psalm 93:3-4 “The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!”
The waves of your life may be crashing around you, but God is bigger, and He is louder.
One of my best friends in college, Hali Sasser, lost her father to cancer her freshman year of college.
We were on praise team together (BSU)
We did a skit about Jesus calming the storms.
She would always say, “Jesus calmed the storm in me.”
Psalm 93:5 “Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.”
God, you are good, and your love endures forever.
God, what you have decreed is trustworthy. You are holy and righteous.
What does it mean that the Psalmist says, “holiness befits your house, O Lord.”
