Intro

Recapping Monday:
The problem of sin
1. Stand for God in God’s Grace 2. Stand for God Despite the World’s Sinfulness 3. Stand for God by Walking With Him
There wasn’t always sin. God created the world without sin, it was good, it was perfect
The world became corrupt, everyone except for Noah was opposed to God. Evil and wicked; but Noah followed God.
This doesn’t mean Noah was sinless, but he followed God, desired to please God, didn’t live in habitual sin.
To walk with God you must spend time with him, repent of your sin and trust in Christ.

Main Point

OBEY GOD!
Just like Noah, we can rely on God to help us obey Him, no matter what.
Gen 6:9-22
Jn 14:15
Preparing for the Flood: Hmm, it’s a big boat, but still, how did everything fit?
1. Map out the size of the ark
300 cubits by 50 cubits (510 ft by 85 ft) - finger tip to elbow
2. Cute ark vs. the REAL ark
3. Intelligence of Noah, (500 yrs experience, sophisticated machines and tools)
4. The animals
There was room left over, even with all the animals
Roughly 500 semi-trailers worth of space
All of the animals would only fill up 130 trailers leaving plenty of space for Noah, his family, supplies, etc.
That includes dinosaurs (how did they fit? smaller ones, younger ones, you don’t have to send the oldest biggest ones)
God brought the animals, Noah didn’t have to gather them
Recent studies estimate the total number of living and extinct kinds of land animals and flying creatures to be 1,398. With our “worst-case” scenario approach to calculating the number of animals on the ark, this would mean that Noah cared for 6,744 animals.
Noah didn’t have to go find and gather all of the animals, God said the animals would come to Noah (God did this supernaturally)
5. On the ark for a year
Noah and his family cared for the animals, obeyed God
some of the animals could have been hibernating
Obey God, even when no one else does.
Obey God, even when it seems impossible.
Obey God, with faith and love for God.
Building the Ark:
In roughly 70 years
(they built the replica in 3)
Noah was not dumber than humans today. He was incredibly smart, had over 500 years of experience, he had tools, this was totally possible
