Hey Agra Youth, I hope you are all having an awesome summer so far!
I’m going to keep this short and sweet, but I want to give you some brief encouragement as we really enter into summer!
Summer can be filled with family vacations, video games, or even sleep! In all the busyness of summer it is so easy to lose track of everything that’s going on

We have much to do and little time in which to get it done!
A. W. Tozer
That is literally my life! A few years back when I was in high school and still taking baby steps in my faith I had a major problem.
As a Christian I understood the importance of being in the word and spending time with God, but when it came to it, especially in the summer months when all I wanted to do was hibernate, I often failed to spend time with God.
Even now as a Youth Pastor and seminary student I struggle with that. A.W. Tozer was right, see I believe one of the biggest battles facing our generation is choosing to spend time with God. As I’ve battled through this struggle for the past 5 years, along the way I’ve learned some very helpful and practical pieces of advise that I want to share with you.
Why spend time with God?
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.
As you go through this summer, with vacations and everything else going on let that verse resonate over you and your life.
That God and his word will fulfill you and guide you in every step of your life.
Summer is a great opportunity for all of us to relax and rest after a long and draining school year, but look for opportunities to grow with God this summer.
God’s word is the lamp to our feet, so when will we stop walking with our eyes closed.
One of my favorite things in scripture is the truth that Jesus is the word made flesh.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
and so when the bible says that God’s word is a lamp to our feet, what that’s saying is Jesus is a lamp to our feet.
Jesus is the lamp to our feet that came as the fulfillment of the new covenant, by living a perfect sinless life, dying on the cross for the sin of the world, and rising from the dead as he defeated death and the grave and NOW he wants to spend time with each of us.
and so I’ll ask you to reflect: What are some ways we can grow closer to God this summer?
Reading his word
Praying
Evangelism
Attending church and fellowshipping with other believers

Maybe you don’t know that light yet. You feel like you walk through life in the dark without any direction or hope. I want encourage you today, that as long as you have breathe in your lungs you are not too far gone from Christ. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sin. He died for the sweet old lady the same way that he died for the gangster or the convict. If that hope is something you’re interested in I would love to be able to talk to you about starting a relationship with Jesus. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me
