Psalm 119:10 . With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart,That I might not sin against thee.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers, and Saints of God it is with humility and a humble Spirit that I am allowed to preach this powerful, potent, prophetic, proclamation.

The Psalmist says I have sought the Lord with my whole heart that means it’s a frame of mind . And for me, brothers and sisters God is not an after thought. Having a relationship with God is the only real thing. And Our Christian Character ought to show evidence that we belong to God and not the world’s system. We ought to be able to display Christian Character without us ever saying a single word. The best sermon ever preached is the one you live, each and every day.

Please give me a moment to teach talk and testify about my God Today. And here it is “Lord I stand in awe before an awesome God. I know I worship you this morning.

Lord I give you glory with my Whole heart. Lord I love you with my whole heart. Lord I honor you with my whole heart. Lord I trust you with my whole heart. Lord I adore you with my whole heart. Lord I lean and depend upon you with my whole heart. Lord I accommodate you in my life with my whole heart. Lord I incorporate your holy word into my life with my whole heart. Lord I identify with your biblical doctrines with my whole heart. Lord with my whole heart I stay connected to your principles and promises. Lord I acknowledge with my whole heart that you are the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings Even the King of Glory.Hallelujah!!! and finally “Lord with my whole heart, I Reverence you because you are my God and my Lord and Savior.

Psalm 119. is the longest psalms in the bible and we are only going to cover one stanza or one verse of David’s long song. And so let’s look at verse 9  Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.

1. The first thing is how can a young man clean up his act? What he got to do to get his life on the right track? And the answer in 2023 can’t be “Boy you better straighten up.Girl it’s time for you to stop being a wild cat.Slow down yourself down. The old folk use to say you got to catch the fish before you can clean the fish.

And church what needs to happen is a love touch… Don’t run them away. Just give them Christian Examples that show Godly Living.

2. What the text does not say, in verse 9 in the (a) clause is that a young person ought to get their life together while they’re young, because ain’t no fool like an old fool. Then

3. The answer is right in the (b) clause of the text. Let’s read it together “By taking heed thereto according to thy word”. The word of God will teach you how to live. listen here’s why

We’ve got to read God’s Word to be wise, We’ve got too believe God’s Word to be saved, and we’ve got to practice God’s Word to be Holy.

Don’t take my word for but listen at what God word says in Psalm 119 about His word.

1. In verse 1. Our actions are Blameless when we obey God’s Word.

2. In verse 2. We are Blessed when our hearts observe God’s rules, laws, and God’s testimonies.

3. When you follow in God’s footsteps we are not comfortable doing wrong stuff.

4. In Vs 4&5 God commands us to completely absolutely obey His Word, and that it’s high time that we begin to be Loyal to following God’s word!

5. In Vs 6 God’s word teaches us how to have respect to His word. And then you’ll be able to say I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God unto Salvation.

6. In Vs 7 God’s word will mature us and make us have a sincere heart towards Him. And get this with a matured heart for God.

7.And lastly in Verse 8 says humankind has always had a tendency to to act up and mess up and that’s!!! what makes God want to abandon us. You can do what you want to but God will respect your choices.

And So David said all of that to say in Vs 9 “How can a young person Maintain a pure lifestyle?”

Listen brothers and sisters the answer is “By taking heed thereto according to thy word”. By guarding God’s Word according to His Instructions.

It’s a process.

Tell your neighbor: It’s a process

AND THEN there is verse 10. that says “With all my heart I seek after you Lord. Personally I try to Love the Lord with my whole heart. And the way you do that is by spending quality time in God’s word.

Because saints of God anybody you Love, you’ll support them. Ain’t nobody got to make you if you love them you’ll spend time with them. ,corner you. When you Love God and you love God’s word, the whole world is going to know it. The song writer said I said I wasn’t going to tell nobody but I couldn’t keep it to myself.

David said in verse 10  With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. David said with my whole heart. Heart 3x in the Hebrew transliteration is the word Leb. And Leb means the internal inside features of the heart. The Heart focuses on a person’s thoughts, a person’s volitions, a person’s emotions, and the person’s reasoning skills.

Do you know right from wrong? If you answered Yes then that’s Your heart saying that I have an understanding and a (conscientiousness). I’m going somewhere with this, And listen to me, when your conscience doesn’t bother you when you’re doing wrong! you’re way off the Mark.

The Old Testament word for Heart is Leb it means more that the muscle that pumping the life giving blood throughout your body.

Let me back it up with scripture. Y’all remember David the great Israeli King. “Well David, was supposed to go to the battle and fight his his army but he had gotten complacence, and relaxed and decided not to go out in battle.

And one day David was on his balcony and saw Bathsheba taking a bath. Lord have mercy, Her Hair was black a silky like raven feathers, her skin was smooth as a baby’s bottom, her eyes like dotted pearls, her teeth like a flock of white sheep, her breath smells like fresh coronation milk , Bathsheba had a figure like the figure 8 and she was drop dead gorgeous. David called her over to the palace, long story short David had relations with Bathsheba and her got pregnant. David had her husband killed. The baby came and the Lord made the baby died. David had lost not only the child, but his integrity, his anointing, his joy, and David was miserable. And after Nathan the prophet came with God’s prognosis to David, David said Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. And brothers ans sisters that’s why we have guard our hearts Jeremiah The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, But Lord searches the heart, He try the reins, of our hearts and God gives every man according to his ways, and the fruit of his doings. In other words you can do whatever you want but get upset when God respect your choices and you suffer the consequences of your actions. Listen brothers and sisters, and saints of God The heart is the (center), the middle area of the core of the depths and veracity of who you really are. When somebody loves you from the depths of their heart , you know without a doubt that you have a relationship that will last forever, Straight on into eternity.

And so David the writer of Psalm 119 in his older matured age now has a different perspective of the heart because he’s experienced what it’s like to have had it, lost it,want it back and finally after He get it back, he now knows how to act with it, and he never wanted to lose fellowship with God again. yes LORD

How can a young man cleanse his way.

David said Love God with your whole Heart. David knew what it took to get things back on the right footing with God because he had been there and done that.

And interestingly enough most times experience is the best teacher. Let’s read the theme verse Psalms 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. One of the other keys to this verse is O let me no wander from thy commandments again… Wait nah Rev I didn’t see the word again in the text. Oh but it’s there. Because David is saying I fell away from the word in error and now I’m pleading with the listening ear That they would not wander from the word of God.

Trust me sooner or later something in life will try to draw you away from the the obedience of the word of God. And that’s why David said in vs 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee. Hiding God’s word in your heart is a process. It’s a process that takes years to develop.

And here’s what I mean

Your heart Your Heart Pr 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.

Lord thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

I don’t mean to keep you long. But then the Psalmist says not only do I need you but 12. LORD, you should be praised. Teach me your demands. 13. My lips will tell about all the laws you have spoken.

Listen to what the Psalmist is saying in verses 12&13 Lord you ought to be praised. In other words there shouldn’t be a time that we don’t praise the Lord. And there shouldn’t ever be a time that we don’t seek His divine teaching. In fact Lord my lips speak your word everywhere I go.

Too many people are afraid to tell it! But tah you can’t tell it like I can tell it what the Lord has done for me. God been too good to me for me to sit quiet on Him now because the Psalmist said Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Is there anybody here that’s going to praise Him today? Because the word of power says in verse 14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, David rejoice so much and so hard so if the psalmist would be in the year 2023 he’d say “Ya’ll, I shouted so much until you would think that I have just won the billion dollar lottery. Because the text says in the (b) Clause “As much as in all riches”.

I think about God’s directives I think about God’s commands. I think about God’s precepts. I think about God’s word and I study, and I meditate on God’s word.

I have fear for the Word of God. I have respect for God’s word. I have reverence for God’s word because it teaches me God’s ways.

Verse 15 tells us that we can’t learn God’s ways without adhering to God’s word. That’s plain and clear. 3x. Because How are you going to be like God and you don’t know nothing about Him. And How do you learn about God? Read and Study God’s word! That’s why the word of God says study to show thyself approved a workman who needed not be ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth.

Then David said in verse 16 Lord I enjoy obeying your word and I just can’t forget the word that brought me up the word that brought me over. and the word the brought out. My Grandmother said “Don’t forget God’s word Raym take it with you where ever you go.

I’ve got to close here now but tah There was a story about a young man who lived down south and he got a job offer to go and work in the factory up north in Indiana. Um Um Um And

All of his relatives gave him money and gifts to go up north. Great God And

He went in his grandmother’s room and said big mama what you gon give me to go up to Indianapolis with um um um

And grandma said All I have is my old bible. Great God And. She said I know it don’t look like much but it will be better than money when you need it baby boy. Oh Lordy! She said don’t forget to pray, Oh Lord. Yes

And Big Mama said don’t forget to read my bible everyday. And so the young man went to Indianapolis and after while things hard and he remembered that grandma said read her bible everyday. Great God Yes

And he pulled her bible out and it open up to the 23 Psalms And he began to read

1  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3  He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Lord!!! I’m seeking you out with my whole heart
I’ll serve you with my whole heart
I’ll praise you with my whole heart Is there anybody here that going to praise The Lord with your whole heart?
