Ephesians 4:17-18 NCV 17 In the Lord’s name, I tell you this. Do not continue living like those who do not believe. Their thoughts are worth nothing. 18 They do not understand, and they know nothing, because they refuse to listen. So they cannot have the life that God gives.

To begin with, brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God by Divine Assignment I’ve been compelled to deliver this special time sensitive First Class Mail Package. I ask the Spiritual Post man when does this Special Message have to be delivered? Heaven’s Postmaster General said by Sunday Morning at 8:30 A.M. I said Yes Sir. And so, here we go in this Topical Textual Message. This message is from the Master to meet the needs of the Masses and the Ephesians 4 text is a beautiful text.

Brothers and sisters I want to teach Talk and tell God’s people about “The Way We Ought To Live”. The main Idea of the sermon is that Paul says “carnal minded Christian have been living less than holy” ,,, and they are doing it a lot, a lot lot lot. And Paul say Church But You who have been taught of the Holy Ghost, Know how you ought to live a holy lifestyle.

Paul says in verse 17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Paul says we ought not live like the world. The church looks too much like the world. And I asked a pertinent question Why is that?Because it has gotten to the point that the carnal minded Christians feel better about being at our churches when the church looks like the world they live in. Say it ain’t so

I’m not saying that I’m against syncretism or that’s syncretism is wrong for the church of 2023 no no no, but the word of God is saying that when you compromise too much you lose the integrity of the word of God,you lose the authenticity of the word of God, you lose the veracity of the word of God, and you lose the Real Power of God’s Word.

For instance: When you turn the lights down low in the sanctuary people are going to think they’re at the movie theater about to see their favorite new movie release. And So their expectations are “hey” I want popcorn and peanuts. And so Rev Dr. R. E. Allen Don’t give me nothing that’s going to make my head hurt! and my heart ache! I ain’t come here for that “Talking about The Way We Ought To Live”.

If that’s how you feel then you’re more carnal minded than you really want to admit. syncretism is ok to an extent but compromising holy standards of living is something all together different.

Be what you want to be but don’t force me to have to participate in it, because as for me and my house we are going to serve the Lord. Paul said in this Topical textual sermon in verse 17 In the Lord’s name, I tell you this. Do not continue living like those who do not believe. Their thoughts are worth nothing. I wish I could preach on Ephesians 4:11 And Christ gave gifts to people—he made some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to go and tell the Good News, and some to have the work of caring for and teaching God’s people. 12 Christ gave those gifts to prepare God’s holy people for the work of serving, to make the body of Christ stronger. Boy that’s some good doctrinal stuff, but it won’t address the sick spiritual mind or the aleing spiritual heart.

And so God wants me to teach you truth in Love. Because it is possible to do great work in the church and live terrible lives afterwards behind the scenes.

An Older Lady said to me, “I see you working on your sermon. Just remember to be kind and to be sweet and to be loving”. I said yes mamn’ And God said to me look at Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: And this reminds me to stay the new course that I put you on years ago. That new course is From then on to now, I don’t look for scripture to beat up on the God’s congregation I don’t have to use bully pulpit tactics, Just teach and preach the truth of the word of God in love, and let people make up their own minds how to live. “And and and then, God will respect their choices.

The Lord is saying “You heard the truth and you decided to follow My Word or you decided to reject My Word. Brothers and sisters are you willing to accept that the wages of sin because wages means it’s the payment for my sins. And that payment is death. But if we do right, that same text say but the gift of God is eternal life. God says behold I stand at the door and knock and I offer you this day life or death. It’s your choice.

Verse 18 says in the KJV Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

There’s something key is the deliverance of the message in this mail. Paul was saying, “Here is all of these wonderful things that Christ has done for you, Now, here is what we ought to do for Christ.” The mere fact that we have been called in Christ says that we ought to live different from the world. Look at verse 17 again. In the Lord’s name, I tell you this. Do not continue living like those who do not believe. Their thoughts are worth nothing. 18 They do not understand, and they know nothing, because they refuse to listen. So they cannot have the life that God gives.

And what struck me was in verse 18 where the word says “because they refuse to listen”. A wise man listens and makes some changes. A fool will never learn and never change. You can’t be both at the same time!!! If you’re wise you’ll change if you’re a fool you’ll never change. And Paul gives a detailed description of what needs to change.

In verse 19  Paul said you ain’t even shame no mo about all that bad stuff you doing and now you doing it more than you ever did it before. In verse 20 Paul said and you wasn’t raised like that. You done got besides yourself. In verse 21&22 Paul said I know you were taught better than you’re acting because I taught you and I taught you that Jesus said to let the old man die! Let that old self die! because if you don’t! you’re going to get worse and worse etc. And then you’re going to get to the point that can’t nobody tell you nothing.

In verse 23 Paul says And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Paul is saying here that we have to renew our mind and Romans 12:2 says and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.... That means to Repent. because Repentance is a change of mind.

Change your mind 3x that you might prove that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Sadly enough,If you don’t want to change ain’t nothing going to get better. So, it’s personal choice. It’s up to you. Because Verse 24 says And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Put on the new man and quit acting like the old you!!!

Because Then Paul gets real specific about what we ought to change. The sermon title is “The way we ought to live”... and Paul gives admonitions in the form of directives Look at verses 25-32.

I found at least 23 statements that’s directed to the individual Christian in Ephesians 4:25-32.

1 In V 25 Stop telling all them lies

22. In V 32 We supposed to forgive each other and quit holding on to stuff that have you all tripped up inside. Make you have a heart attack or a stroke or something deadly awful.
