All Things Made New

Revelation 21:1–8 NKJV
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Introduction

I know we’re going through some things but it could be worst. We’re going through something, but it will get better!
Jesus promised He is going to prepare a place for us. All we have to do is endure, stay faithful and dedicated, and we will see trouble don’t last always!

1-John’s Vision

John is the author of the gospel of John, and the Book of Revelation. He is also known as the beloved disciple of Jesus. John’s vision gives us hope that trouble won’t last always.
John wrote about seeing in a vision, The Great White Throne of Judgment in Revelation 20:11-15. He saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.
John saw the dead being judged according to their works, by the things written in the books. The sea gave up the dead in it, and Death and Hades delivered the dead. Everyone was judged.

2-John’s Vision - continued

Oh, how many times have we heard what a great day this will be. We sing songs about singing and shouting victory!
We learned in Sunday School about the prophet Isaiah giving a word he received directly from God regarding a promise to create a new heaven and a new earth. Now the vision of the same is given to John in a vision.
It might not resonate with you now, but I pray it will later, how great of a promise this is to all who believe. To those who will hang in there with Christ and carry the faith all the way to end of our lives on this earth!

3-Who’s Going To Be There?

John saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, the New Heaven coming down from heaven. This new place was created by God as a gift to all believers in Christ!
John heard a voice saying “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people. Wow! We will, if we maintain our faith in Christ, be living with God, in a new earth!
And it won’t be just a new earth. Sin won’t be there, evil won’t be there, sickness won’t be there and death won’t be there. Lying won’t be there, and unjust governments and people won’t be there. Racism won’t be there! John heard God say; “I am making everything new!” Death will have lost its sting! Sin and its consequences won’t be allowed in this Holy City.

4-Who’s Not Going To Be There?

There is false preaching and teaching going on that would have us think everybody is going to heaven - anyhow! That’s a lie from hell! The 7th and 8th verse points this out!

Conclusion/Encouragement

Trouble won’t last always because one day soon, all things will be made new!
No matter what you’re going through, if you go through it with Jesus, not only will He help you today, He will ensure your inheritance in God’s Kingdom will be in place for you.
