We All Fall

Proverbs 24:16–18 CSB

Though a righteous person falls seven times, he will get up, but the wicked will stumble into ruin. Don’t gloat when your enemy falls, and don’t let your heart rejoice when he stumbles, or the Lord will see, be displeased, and turn his wrath away from him.

I fell the other day. I slipped have fallen numerous times. Angie fell she stumbled over something.

Sometimes we stumble

Sometimes we slip

Sometimes we get pushed, shoved, or run into

Sometimes we get knocked down buy life

The trick is not to stay down...

A righteous may fall seven times but he gets back up...

1. What is righteous person...

What does that really mean?

Not a perfect person, or a person without faults or weaknesses.

A person that is living by faith.

We are not righteous because of our works.

We are not righteous because of our position in the church.

Money, fame, belongings, stature, none of the things make us righteous

Church attendance, religious behavior, piousness, and self righteousness don’t make us righteous.

We are righteous by faith. Justified by faith. We believe and are made righteous because we believe.

Falling doesn’t make you unrighteous no more than not falling makes you righteous. It makes us human. In our humanity we have weaknesses and that is why at times we fall.

Faith in God will restore you to the place of right-standing. (Righteousness)

2. What makes us fall?

1. We stumble because we walk in darkness by not confessing and dealing with Sin

Offense toward others

Not walking in the light of the Word of God in our lives

2. We slip because don’t pay attention to where we are walking and what we are walking on

People, Places, Things

Stay off the slippery slop and you won’t slip

3. People in our lives will do things that will affect us if we let them. Walk around it. Forgive it. Let it go and move on. If you get shoved. Get up and let God deal with the rest.

4. Life can knock us down. Storms come, the enemy attacks, things happen. This thing tuned out for the furtherance of the Gospel.

3. Get up...

Believe God. Exercise faith. Change what you listen to and what you say. Speak the Word. Call on Jesus and declare His name.

Shake it off. Sometimes we still have hurts when we fall. Bruises, wounds, sore spots. Don’t give in to to keep moving and heal. Trust God, have faith and let God heal your wound.

Don’t let guilt keep you down. Jesus died to get us up out of the pit. Falling doesn’t make you unrighteous… c

Don’t gloat or be happy when others fall. Give them a hand. Pray for them and help them up.

Stop wallowing in you problem. Stop having pity parties, and wanting sympathy. Make a choice that I will not stay down. Get up...

Get around others who have faith, and pray with them. Let their testimony encourage you and follow their faith.

Get up in Jesus name.

Paul stoned and left for dead they prayed and got up a walk back to town encouraging the brethren.

Jesus in the grave. Three days. Arose.

Get up and speak the name, get up and praise him, get up and walk like you have never walked before.

He is reaching to help you up. Don’t stay down.

It’s time to get up...
