Romans 5:1–2 CSB
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
WE HAVE BEEN JUSTIFIED BY FAITH!!!!
FOR ALL HAVE SIN BUT JUSTIFIED BY FAITH.
Take moment and recap your life think of the mistakes you have made. The sin you have commited against GOD. JUSTIFIED BY FAITH.
We can’t over look the importance of this verse go back to your recap, now remove the ability to be JUSTIFIED.
Where does that leave us? LOST without HOPE.
“we have peace with GOD through our LORD Jesus Christ.”
while that is nice
This means you were at war with GOD before Jesus. That is a war my friend you are not going to win.
The sad part is that most don’t even know that they are a war with GOD.
It reminds me of and movie called the Truman Show. (1998 25 years old)
The whole world was watching yet Truman had no clue.
Many live that way with GOD.
So how do we find peace with GOD through our LORD Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:2 CSB
We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Access how important is it? (the word means access to royal access)
Jesus died and the veil was torn!
Jesus died and the gates of heaven where opened.
Jesus rose from the grave so that death would be defeated.
The once Condemned now have access to the Father.
we boast in the HOPE!!!
Romans 5:3–4 CSB
And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
Boast in our afflictions. WHAT?
How do we boast in our afflictions?
In the middle of the stress and pain. In the middle of the pain and worry.
When ___________ comes boast.
Endurance, Character, and Hope come from afflictions.
Is this ture in Paul life?
2 Corinthians 11:24–28 CSB
Five times I received the forty lashes minus one from the Jews. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I received a stoning. Three times I was shipwrecked. I have spent a night and a day in the open sea. On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own people, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, and dangers among false brothers; toil and hardship, many sleepless nights, hunger and thirst, often without food, cold, and without clothing. Not to mention other things, there is the daily pressure on me: my concern for all the churches.
Did this produce Endurance, Character, and Hope in Paul’s life?
See uses affliction to make changes in our life.
Romans 5:5 CSB
This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
What hope?
because has change our heart by pouring HIS love in our heart. (Circumcision of the Heart)
We were given the Holy Spirit to change our heart.
GOD’s love is so deep in you HE lives there.
Invitation
Who is in need of a heart change?
