Is God omnipresent?
2. Do we need scripture for the belief that God is omnipresent?
Questions:
If God is omnipresent, then what was the Ark of the Covenant for?
In the old testament, God was called, “The One who Dwells _______________”
What does that mean if He dwells everywhere?
If God dwells everywhere, then what happened to Obed Edom’s house?
If God dwells everywhere, then what does it mean to be “filled with the Spirit”?
If God dwells everywhere, then what does that tell us about Romans 8:9?
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
If God dwells everywhere, then what does it mean that sin separates us from God?
12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Without God?
Been brought near?
Where do we know for sure God dwells now?
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
Why does He dwell in us? Because we’re righteous.
More Questions:
If we believe God is everywhere, then what does that mean about disease, suffering, and unanswered prayer?
HOWEVER, if we start thinking God ONLY dwells in us who believe, what fruit would that produce?
DO YOU SEE?!!!
The reason all these people think God allows evil, is ‘cause He’s not even there!
People who believe He’s omnipresent, think He’s there and just not doing anything! He’s not powerless! He’s simply not there!
Your family needs you because you’re the ONLY PLACE GOD DWELLS!
If you don’t bring God to them, they will never experience Him!
21 You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?
22 You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
23 You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law?
24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.
Our sinlessness is not what makes us full of God. It’s our faith in Christ. If we are righteous, God will dwell in us.
Man focuses on sinlessness and who has the least sin. God couldn’t care less about that. He wants to see faith working through love.
