In John 19:16-37, John takes us back to the Old Rugged Cross to remind us Jesus willingly went down the way of the cross, fully aware of the pain and agony that was before Him, because the love and compassion He had for us was greater than His own comfort and convenience. the way, the words, the witness, and the wonder of the Old Rugged Cross remind us that we were on Jesus’ mind when He was on the cross. Jesus died to open a perfect way for you and me to be saved and enter into Heaven for all of eternity because He loved us even unto death!
