So we continue with a kind of series of lessons that we have that I kind of drifted into I guess. We started months ago with increasing our faith and so on and it just seems to be progressing, did the lesson on practice of pleasing God and got some requests for some more details. And so that's probably what's going to happen the next few weeks. If you need a recording of this, I actually got it. Turned on, I believe. Yep. So practice of pleasing, God notes. Remember last week, I talked about this and I would just want to remind us of some point quickly. The greatest the great inescapable, dilemma that Paul talked about in Romans, chapter 7. If you remember, I find myself doing things, I don't want to do, Keep that in mind. We'll touch on that passage here in a moment in Ephesians, the 5th chapter verse 8, through 10, if you want to look at, look it up. The Bible says for it, one time you were Darkness but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. And we have this passage a couple times in this series of practice, pleasing God. And I wanted to point out here that those last fruit few words and verse 10, try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Some things in scripture, absolute. Some things are relative and this way. This is stated here in the blue. If you're looking at the screen, try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord that Shirley indicates, there's different levels. It's not something that's always black and white the same for everybody. We have to try to figure out in our own life like Paul, it said, work out your salvation with fear and trembling figure out in our own life how we can go about pleasing God, the suggestion here, is that their growth involved? And I remind us the great in this capable. Dilemma the Bible says, I do not do the good I want. But what I evil, I do not want, is what I keep on doing, and that's in Romans 7th 8:22, not going to read all that we did last week. But just to remind us in verse 22 through 24. Paul said, for I Delight in the law of God in my inner being, but I see in my members, another law Waging War against the law of my mind and making me captive to the loss and that dwells in my members Wretched, Man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death. And Paul's dilemma, which I suggest to all of us is the great dilemma and we've all done it. If you ever found yourself doing what, you don't want to be doing, you want to do what's right? But you get tripped up and you do what's wrong, and you're not doing everything. And that is an incredible dilemma. Now, Paul says that it's Jesus. Who can save us from this and does in verse 25 of Romans 7. Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ Our Lord. So then I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh, I serve the law of sin. Now, on the 8th chapter in the first few verses, Paul talks about the law of Life of spirit of life. That's in Jesus. Never words what he's pointed out is there's a law of sin, which is, it will lead to death and you can find yourself doing that but there's another law because of Christ that overrides it. And he said that in the eighth chapter and then down inverse 7 1/8 of the 8th chapter of Romans. He says, for the mind that is set on the flash is hostile to God for. It does not submit to God's law. Indeed, it cannot be those who are in the flesh, cannot please God. All the things of the flesh are pretty well delineate, it and are some absolute. If you look at Galatians the 5th chapter, we're not going to go there and detail right now but in that chapter lost of The Flash is laid out. And pulse point is, if you're in the flash you are going to be hostile to God. You're not going to be pleasing his Lee sezan versake. Those who are in the flesh. Cannot please God.

So freedom from this, great inescapable deliver we talked about this last week. It's going to be found how to escape this dilemma that we find ourselves in and our part in the scaping it is found in God's word. Proverbs 14:12 there is a way with it seems right to man, but it's in is the way of death. That was a passage that preacher got me to memorize very early and is absolutely correct. Now, the trick is, how do you apply it? How do you, when you start to recognize, you're getting caught up in the flesh? Or you're starting to go down a path, you don't want or you're in that dilemma finding myself doing what I don't want to do. How do I go about doing what Proverbs says to do and that some about what we're going to talk about this morning. Last lesson, I left you all with a question to answer. And I introduced the question this way.

Josh and asked, if I would give some specifics on pleasing God and how to And I can give specifics as to what I know. I can give specifics as to how I've done it. That it has actually worked for me, and that's some of what we're going to do in this lesson. But I want to make sure that you understand all of us have to figure out what works for us when it comes to growth. But this question I am I left us with last week, I mentioned it when I was away from God, I realized and even after coming back I still had to reiterate the answer to this question. And the question was, what was I willing to die? For what beliefs did I hold in my heart. And my mind that I was willing to give up my life for Jesus answered that question. And you might think Jesus didn't have to answer that question. He's God, he knew, but he did have to answer it. He answered it by going to the Cross because he chose to go there. And he chose to die for others. Not in the moment type thing. But and is part of what his life was about. He came, he did teaching, he live perfect, he kept the law perfect. He showed us, he actually showed his Proverbs and wisdom in action in with how we live. And when it came to the Cross, he pray to God, if there's some other way than giving my life to it, but if not, your will be done and he made that choice. Now, when we first become Christians, we are in mature. We talked about this last week scriptures, very playing when we first become Christians were babes in Christ. We go through a spiritual growth, process, much like you went through, when you were born into this world, physically and you went through the different steps and the commitment that we have to price starts at 1 level. And that level may be different for each one of us. As we figure out what we need to be doing different in our lives, as we look at what might be our issues.

the Bible says, and this is Jesus speaking, that's white and red and I turn the Matthew 6:31 through 33 because this is one that hit trip me up before And I know it's tripped up others and talking with other people and you remember Matthew 26 chapter starts up about verse 20, 25, I think. But he goes into a discussion about getting all concerned with what I'm going to eat, what I'm going to wear, what I'm going to drink and he says this is what the Gentiles you need to seek first. His kingdom, all read the scripture therefore not do not be anxious saying what shall we eat? What shall we drink? Or what shall we wear the Gentiles seek after all these things, your heavenly father knows, you need them all but seek first, his kingdom, or the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Yeah, I know anyone that's been in the Lord's church for any amount of time or another place, as you may have, heard preachers. Talk about this and teachers. I have the number one priority. We've all said it. It's teachers and preachers and you probably heard it and say it yourself. Number one, priority from that passage is what seek first, his kingdom. And we put that as a priority. We emphasize is a priority Jesus said not to be anxious about your life. What you drink, what? You're eating food and clothing. Anybody here ever not go through that process of being anxious. Haven't we all at different times even when we got this as a priority found ourselves thinking about clothing food drink life, things of the world not for me. I found it. I just never could get this priority of his kingdom first, even teaching it even believe in it. Even practicing it to some degree. I kept getting tripped up Friday as I could to live a life or his kingdom was. Number one, the world comes at you. The world comes at you with advertising, the world comes at you with false beliefs. The world comes at you with all kinds of stuff. And then when you go to work in the world for the first time, you go somewhere where you work with a bunch of other fellows and ladies, I'm sure. Only not as much at least. We like to think not as much. But you go to work and people find out that you're a Christian cuz you're all excited, you're talk about it. And here comes the mockery, here comes the scorned, here comes all the questions that people have and is a new person. And even as one, who's been around for a while, people can unload so many questions on you. You get bombarded and you get frustrated, and you can't seem to find the answer. Now, on top of that,

In your own self. Is this dilemma where you find yourself doing things you don't want to do, try as I could, I often failed to be consistent with it. I don't know if that happened to any of you but it sure happened to me right up to the point when I came face-to-face with this question and I've continued to answer this question, Because I realize how important this question is. What are you willing to die for? In until I got locked in that. I'm willing to die for Christ physically thought about it in-depth right about it. Can I do it if it's time comes. And we all, like, to think. if the time comes, and you get Challenge and it's your life or your husband's life, or your kid's life, Are you a Christ? Would you do it now? That's what the early Christians went through. They would get turned in by family or maybe the Romans got a hold of them. And here's your wife and kids and here's the husband and if you don't deny Christ and burn incense to Caesar, we're going to start killing and they did and people still held to their beliefs which was the thing that thwarted the Romans, the most and it can the worst they were on it. The more these folks did it but that is the question. And I hope that this last week you'd give some time and think and do it. Now, what are you really? Deep down willing to give your life for Now, I'm not talking about parents cuz we're going to all be willing to give our lives for our children. That's that's just you just do naturally and I'm not talking about risking your life to go. Save somebody else's life and other words life has things that happened? You come up on a car accident, fire, starting to spread in the car. Someone's trapped inside. Most of us are going to run up to the car and try to get that person out about all possible. That is just normal, living and life-threatening situations. And most folks will step in, in a minute. I'm talking about that. And I've checked those boxes for myself. I left crop-dusting for my kids to move back to Oregon to be around them. And so I'm not talking about that kind of willingness to die. What I'm talking about is something that goes a lot deeper than just the Flash. Where is deep in the soul, deep in the heart. Now, the world's going to throw at you circumstances, the world's going to throw at you noise, constantly, you need to buy this. You need to wear that you need to eat this drinks out, and it is everywhere.

Now I tricked myself. Once thinking of, you know what, I'm going to get rid of regular TV and just do streaming TV and I won't have to listen to All Those ads that work for a while. It really did until I got a smartphone. And now the ads pop up on the smartphone and yes, I got an ad blocker. For many of the websites, I look at call Adblock Plus and it does a great job but sometimes you get a little message. If you want to read article, you got to turn off Adblock Plus And they throw ads at you and now they throw ads at you, based on how many things you click to on your computer. They call that being had specific. We don't want to flood you with things. You don't want. Although I'm still trying to brighten it and I talked about this still trying to figure out how it is. Amazon wants to advertise something for me that I just bought from them and they do for about a month or two or maybe a year later. The noise of our world is going to come at all of us. And then there's another set of noise that we have to deal with. It's called self, talk that voice in your mind, maybe not allowed voice, but those thoughts and it's like somebody in their thinking, and you can really divide these voices into three different groups. One group is going to be you as a child. And some of those old child ways of thinking are going to pop up, the other voice is going to be call a critical parent and that is the part of your mind that criticizes you constantly, and then there's the adult voice, the mature voice, those things, go on. And as children, we grow up in his life, gives us experiences. We develop scripts of how to respond to certain circumstances in our world, that makes sense to us. And they become what's called tape loops. And for the Christian, those old tape Loops are usually based on the world and not on Christ and we have to go in and reprogram our brain. Now that happens, thank goodness to the study of God's word because God's word is alive and active in the more you pour in and I'll say it this way, the more you memorize, yes, memorize the quicker that happens and those pay plutz begin to get replaced with God's way of thinking.

When all that noise is happening and you haven't answered this question that yet. And like for myself, The Flash pulls really, really hard. And James 1:14 through 15 Bible. Says, Beach person is tempted when he is lured, and enticed by his own desire, then desire when it is conceived, it gives birth to sin and sin when it is fully grown brings forth, death. Now we've looked at this passage, we talked about this passage but like a lot of things we got to go over and over and one of the things we need to get set in our minds. And it gets to be confusion because of some things. Jesus said, Is that Temptation desires? Those thoughts that pop up are not in and of themselves? Sinful? The one illustration, a lot of people like to say is will Jesus said if you look upon a woman to lust after her you were you're committing adultery. So there's your thoughts and you just send Jesus said specifically, if you look who lost as a difference between a thought popping up just naturally normal or where you allow your mind. And this goes for women as well as men were you allow your mind to focus on that object of lust. Then you haven't started heading down this road right here. And you let that go for a while in that desire becomes something conceived. Your mind plays with it, your mind works it in. There's that fleshly self that wants to make it happen and comes up with the plan and then you go and do it. And now is he says brings forth, fully grown brings forth death cuz you actually do it. But this is a great piece of information.

Because it's telling us just because thoughts, pop in your head or feelings. Or words doesn't mean you send you how have an opportunity to stop it before it goes further and that's part of practicing to be pleasing to God we'll talk more about that as unfold but if you were doing like I would been used to do one foot in the world, one foot out, one foot and with God's kingdom priority, the other foot looks and all that noise and pretty things. You get trip. so, That's quite an introduction to this lesson that I wanted to tie it together with others. So we're going to look at a few thoughts about the impact. If the answer to this question, the impact of answering it of being willing to die for Jesus deep inside. And if there's levels, you'll go to one level you get it pretty well. Maybe another and they'll be another but we're going to start with some thoughts about it. How do we do this living for him all the time? Part of practice. So the first thought, Deny thyself and you escape the great dilemma. Jesus said it for us in Mark 3 or Mark a, I'm sorry verse 34 to 35. And calling the crowd to him, with his disciples. He said to them If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life, for my sake and the gospels will save it, the key, denial of self.

He said, it it spot in. Proverbs it spot in God's wisdom, but he said, if you're going to follow him, you've got to be willing to deny the self all that noise in the head. Those tape Loop those scripts. Those things that point you this way, or that away from him, you've got to deny them. Their If you don't deny them in there, they'll be come out here and get harder to. So it starts there. Willingness to die for Jesus. As he means it. Means daily moment-by-moment, I deny self.

Now, that is absolutely 180 degrees. From what are World teaches? It's 180 degrees from what the society we live in right now is all about the it's society's all about me. Me me me. I think I mentioned a couple weeks ago, college graduation and they put it up as a film lady. Got her diploma. Then grab the microphone away from the announcer and said this is all about me. This is my day and she went off to talk about her. That is a reflection of the thinking that is in our world. And the thinking it's in our world will constantly bombarded us. And I did say this last week. This battle that we fight on a daily basis. Moment-by-moment basis is out here, not out here, it's in here. If you try to fight this battle out here, you'll lose We fight it in here in the heart. The mind. Take up your cross, whatever it might be follow him and lose your life in him.

Now, we do that. Not out of fear.

2nd Corinthians, chapter 5, verse 14 and 15. Absolute key verse to pleasing God.

Paul says, For the Love of Christ controls us, Because we have concluded this. That one has died for all. Therefore all have died and he died for all that those who live might no longer live for themselves. But for him, there's that denial of self. And when you do this, you might think you have to give up this that or got. It has in his word told us how to satisfy all of those desires and things that come up. In fact, family needs to be Incredibly Close and when you love your family and you love them and treat them as you should. You're doing things pleasing to God. When you go to work, you're supposed to go to work and earn your own living. That's pleasing to God But this thing here, he's telling us, you do that because you love him because he died for you and now you deny self and you live for him. No longer living for just self. Oops. Sorry,

I've lost my cursor again. Come on. Where are you? I had you. There you are.

This passage explain how to do The Great Escape. You do the Great Escape by living for Jesus. If you do that, like not living in the flesh, you escape that great dilemma, not living for yourself. But for him, Must be noted. I'm not saying that you and I are living for self. So, don't take this wrong. I'm not saying that we are what I'm saying, is, there's different levels and if we practice pleasing God, we have to grow through those levels. We started babes We kind of move spiritually as to being toddlers. We start learning some of the hard fast. Things. We need to find out what we're not supposed to do, exactly. On some things we grow into being growing children childhood, and then there's adolescents and then there's the mature adult. And so each one of these levels, there's a different level of commitment, what is we grow? As Christians, we have to get more more constantly practicing, giving our life up for him, I'm saying it is, I answered the great question. I came to realize that I had come up, short of living, Matthew 6:33 consistently on off on off. And when I answered this question, that changed, Jesus said Matthew 15 verse 19 out of the heart, come evil, thoughts murder, adultery sexual immorality, Seth false Witnesses, and slander. Jesus have been asked about washing his hands. He took that time to point out. It's not what's outside the body that makes it Unholy. It's what comes out. And I noticed the things he said right here in this passage Evil thoughts, murder, adultery sexual immorality theft, false, witness and slander. Those are all absolute There's no gray area with these and we have to start with the absolute if you remember. Last week I talked about when you have new children, parents have to instill, some natural fear of things that will hurt the child. So the child doesn't hurt itself. But you move past that and we have to move past it as Christians. All we hope we hold fast to the things that are absolute but then we get into the area of growth and an area where we continue to please. God 2nd Corinthians 10 verse 5. Send this first before you're going to hear it again in the next few weeks, as we talked about practicing, but this is where Paul explains what Jesus was talking about. What has to happen in art side of us. Remember what James has said when Temptation comes, it can be developed into send, but it can be stopped inside. This passage, we destroy arguments every lofty. Thought, raised up against the knowledge of God in a take every thought captive to obey Christ. Again, using myself and what I discovered. I started practicing that. And started helping a lot. But I was still hitting missed and then I began combining this with being Willington moment-by-moment deny myself and give my life to Christ. And it started working even better. I found three areas in my life, consists in areas. Three of them. That always gave me problems. They still raise their heads. They still yell at me at times. They'll come at me. A note challenge me. But boy, in the past when they did, I crashed I don't crash so much anymore and every one of us has to take some time, I would suggest getting out pad and paper and doing some writing to find out what are yours. Or maybe you've done it and, you know, it's supposed to do when you get into your 50, 60, 70. And I talked about this the other day, When we get on the phone, it's an hour and a half. I'm sure glad we're not charged ten cents a minute. We talked about this. She's going to turn 70 in August. And she said recent this recent last couple years, she's been doing a thing where she started praying about past sins that she had never repented of and she started going through looking at her life and she said, you know, there is places in there. I just missed it. And so you go back in and you clean house, you find out what your bugaboos are. Maybe you have one, two, three, probably at the most main areas. And then you practice this. I know I'm pointing here but it's up here. You practice this You destroy those negative arguments. You destroy him by taking him into a beating surprise, that is to his passage to his scripture to his teaching that can include things in the Old Testament and the new member last week. We talked about Paul in Ephesus having breech the whole Council. And we're going to spend more time in Proverbs in the next few weeks. But you start taking those ways of thinking and answering those issues that pop in your head and your heart and your life. Hebrews 5:14 solid foods for the mature which I put all of us in that room for the most part it, some level or another, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice. After me, the constant practice check in. And when I answered that question, I'm not not be for you. You might be a different thing way that kicks it in, but it needs to kick in. Second thought. Learn to Fly by trusting your instruments. Now you're going to go oh my goodness he's going to give us a flying lesson and story and I do that because I don't know how else to Illustrated. Maybe if I was a coal miner I'd do it different work. In the oil fields I have a different illustration but this one will fit for what I'm talking about.

You have to one of the things Pilots have to learn. And that is you got to learn to fly in the clouds in the storm clouds by faith. Robert teaches the same thing for us in our lives is God's people. Proverbs 3, verse 3 through 6. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake. You Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Or does that not sound like, putting his word, God's word and obedience to all those thoughts into your hearts or sounds similar? So, you will find favor. Good. Success in the sight of God and man, it isn't that what we're looking at? How to please God, trust in the Lord with all your heart. And do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight now. Learning to fly on instruments.

This all Pilots learning the beginning, but if you're going to go on and fly a lot, you have to get an instrument license which means you can take off into the clouds and the visibility where you take off. Maybe so you go down the runway you can't see all the way down there but your compass has a heading on that Runway and you keep with your pedals, you keep the plane going straight, the way you wanted to go and you take off and you're in the clouds that when they start taking this to you. Instructor will take you out and I used to do this cuz I had an instrument instructors license. And I had instruments students. You take us young student out and you put a hood on them so that they can only see inside the cockpit. And I'm bothered while they're looking at that not looking outside, you put the plan into a turn say going over here to the to my right, your laugh, your turning, and then you just gently stop that turn. They feel like they're continuing the term. Because they have no visual references to the horizon or outside. Now the eyes become really important but flying by the seat of your pants while you feel the aircraft and you've react to how it's going in relation to the, ER, that you have visuals up, has to be let go of Now, you got instrumental. We used to have just a number of circle instruments, AirSpeed, altimeter heading and so on their all-round dial. Now it's all on one digital screen, which is much easier than having to stand around and round all the time. And that's what you have to do. Flying the cloud, you constantly have to scan your instrument, you've got one that tells you if you're going up or down you got one that tells you if you're staying on your altitude, you've got one that tells you which direction you're going, you got one that tells you if your wings are level or not nose up, nose down, and you have to stand those all the time when you're in the cloud because you, if you don't this, slight turn like this. And you can even go like this and then down and that's what I would do with students. So they get it and then ask him to look up. Oh my goodness, I thought I'm crashing.

Eddie Rickenbacker the World War 1, Ace of this country when it came back from the war was fought and this is before they had those instruments. He went out flying, he thought I'm going to go up in the clouds. I'm going to practice flying straight and level in the clouds and get the feel for that as it's supposed to be. So he went up was flying along and he said I was congratulating myself cuz I just knew I doing perfect. Suddenly he popped out of the cloud and he was in a tailspin. And you can't tell that's happening. Your inner ears, a mess. So you have to trust the instruments. You have to trust what you're being told by your instruments. And that's what I mean about for us as Christians. We have to learn to fly sometimes in the storms of life by trusting the instruments all sense of time and space will go away when you're doing this kind of flying. And it's so accurate. Now that I want time, I flew from Lake Tahoe down to Sacramento in the clouds constantly did an approach to the airport based on the instruments in about 200 feet before hitting the ground, popped out of the clouds and I was right dead in line with the runway so it works but you can't do it. If you're not fine by faith in what your eyes are seeing in the instrument panel, this kind of flying cannot be done by the flesh. Is to fly in the storms of life. You must fly by faith. now, what I mean by storms of life, You get up in the morning to beautiful day. You're feeling good. Maybe you have some breakfast you like or whatever and it's beautiful outside in your head off and you meet some people, you know and your interactions are good and in calm and friendly. And everything's great. Are you can fly that kind of day by the seat of your pants, so to speak based on scriptures that, you know. But then come the storms. And that's when when the storms hit where we have to really focus in on book chapter and verse as our instruments 2nd Corinthians 13:5 examine yourselves to see whether you're in the face test your cells or do you not realize this about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you unless indeed you failed to meet the test when I'm flying on instruments, the test is what I'm seeing in front of my face. Believing that not what I'm feeling in my body. For us as Christians, we talked about that last year. The faith is a Sit, the system of belief, it's a noun. It's not a verb in this tent use here, and we have to fly in our lives. When we run into the clouds of Life, the storms of life and they will come. Staying Inside the Box scanning the scriptures. Those are our instruments testing ourselves. Am I flying straight and level? Am I headed to heaven like I want to be or maybe I need to make a course correction.

So am I living according to God's word, am I in the face? Or am I straight and level Freedom From The Great, Escape is in God's wisdom? It's there in the book for us to learn Proverbs 14:12. There's a way which seems right to man but its end is the way of death. Third thought. And this is the hardest lesson for all of us, the hardest lesson for Pilots.

You don't have to go into the storm cloud. Sometime. Sometimes, the storm cloud gets forced upon you. But sometimes people will come firing questions at us or criticism at us. And what's the response we want to attack back? We want to jump in here and have a get in it and I know God's word and I'm going to tell God's word to him. And here's what God's word says, and if they don't like it, well, that stuff on them and maybe we shouldn't always jump in. Four Pilots. There's only one group of Pilots that have to fly in all the really bad weather. That's the military guys but boy trying to teach civilian Pilots not to go.

While in Tahoe teaching, fine, I was the FAA safety officer for that airport. and I think I've told this before, but one Sunday night storm, snow storm going on, man comes in with his family, he goes over to The Pilot lounge to prepare his navigation home and so on and it's snowing, it's icy and the plane that he flies does not have deicing equipment He's got his wife and children. I'll go talk to him cuz I was supposed to do trying to talk him out of going and all know. I got to get back to Los Angeles. I'm a doctor. I got surgery plan. People are depending on me. I got to go. And he wouldn't listen to reason. And if you don't have the icing equipment, you're not supposed to go into known, icing conditions, those are the rules. So I went and talked to his wife And I got very blunt your husband's about to kill you and your children. He shouldn't be going nuts, knowing you're going to come down heart. And I walked away, guess what? They didn't go. And later he thanked me for it because he would have crashed. He was like playing with a vice. He would have flown into a mountain. It's the hardest thing knowing that when not to go to the Bible says it might not be prudent to fly into every one of those storms. Proverbs 10:19, when words are many in, this is usually when we get tricked, when words are many transgression is not lacking. This is dangerous. But whoever restrains, his lips is prudent. Providence, 1316. Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly. He just going to go ahead like a bull in a China closet.

Three more passages from Proverbs 14:15 the simple believes everything I can do it. But The Prudent gives him some thoughts to his steps 1524 the path of Life leads upward for The Prudent. That he may turn away from the show. All Beneath 23:3, The Prudent sees danger and hides himself but the simple go on and suffer it. And by the way that passage gets repeated again before the end of proverbs, because sometimes as God's people, We need to stop, think pray and study on a subject before we go headlong into it. Hard lessons with me as a preacher to learn. Cuz boy, I got all this Bible knowledge. I got all this study. I know the book chapter and verse. You say something and I'm off and going down your throat and it doesn't work. Doesn't work at all. Jesus talked Prudence Matthew 7 verse 6. He said do not give dogs. What is Unholy? Do not throw your pearls before. Pigs less, they stand trample, them underfoot and turn to attack you. He taught it again and Luke 14 verse 31 or what can going out to encounter another king. In war will not sit down first and deliberate. Whether he is able with ten thousand men to meet him who comes against him with 20. Sometimes the lesson of prudent behavior is the hardest to live by. It'll be the flesh that says go for it. Just go do it. You living in by the spirit. You have to go so much that you can. You think you can handle anything. I'm living by it. I'm doing. I've grown I know what I'm doing. Only to find yourself crashing and burning in the great dilemma. Find myself doing something. I don't really want to do. One might say if I have doubts, it might be good. Not to proceed hard lesson to teach Pilots. You might want to say no to flying today. Hard lesson, first Christian, some time to learn the exercise. The wisdom of prudence that's talked about. In Proverbs, fruits will say I have doubts, but how to deal with this Brewing storm. Therefore, I will spend some time in prayer. Meditation upon what I can find that God has said before I go rushing headlong, I realized I might get a chance We have to prepare as much as you can ahead of time. Just like out flying sometimes, the weather turns on you and you find yourself in the clouds and they weren't supposed to be there. But Prudence should always be the watchword of the day. The Bible says be pruned don't fly on the Storm seventh Proverbs 17:12. The Prudent sees danger said it was going to be repeated and hides himself for the simple. Go ahead and suffer from it. Remember you feed ins, we started with this morning try to learn what is pleasing to God. This is about levels of growth in practice and developing the skill. I said, I'm not saying we're all not doing what I'm saying. We need to be sure. We're focusing on, developing the skill of pleasing. God. Willingness to die for Jesus means daily. Moment-by-moment, I deny self. Yes, you're going to have those thoughts crazy thought. Sometimes, pop in your head, it's in your head. You deal with him. Don't put them out here, keep them in here. Are you willing? Daily moment-by-moment, to deny self by taking whatever your cross might be taking your thoughts, captive to Jesus to live for him, not for self. Out of your love for him for what he gave to you.

Now, that's the invitation this morning. For all of us. To constantly work. Dealing with those thoughts, dealing with those scripts, dealing with what the world throws at us, and maybe practicing some Prudence so that we go with confidence and quietness in gentleness instead of bravado. That's the invitation, are you?
