21:1 A new creation
The new creation has a beginning that is entirely different than our current world. No sea, may refer to Gen 1:2. This world will be complete and perfect from the beginning. It also point out that the only dwellingplace created is for mankind.
21:2 A new city
The purpose of this new creation is clear immediately. The City of God, the Bride of the Lamb, the New Jerusalem is the focal point of the New Creation.
21:3 The city’s center
Whatever may be contained within this city, the New Jerusalem. The centerpiece of it all will be the tabernacle of God. Emmanuel, truly, visibly, God with us.
21:4 Sorrow ceased
No weeping, no death, no sorrow, no crying, no pain. No curse. No sin.

2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, So shall thy sons marry thee: And as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, So shall thy God rejoice over thee.
18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, And with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: And I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, And will make them to lie down safely. 19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; Yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, And in lovingkindness, and in mercies. 20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: And thou shalt know the Lord.
