1 John 1:1–4 (CSB)
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have observed and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—that life was revealed, and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us—what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
John 20:21 (CSB)
21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.”
We are to be a church that is sent.
sent means to live out the mission of God!
2 Corinthians 5:20 (CSB): 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.”
We are to be kingdom oriented people.
As Southern Baptist one of the ways we advance the KIngdom is through the Cooperative Program.
We as a single church limited in resources may not be able to make a great impact alone.
we could not fund Missionaries across the world and church planting in across our nation, as well as Theological training for those missionaries.
through the cooperative program we are able to do just that. WE cooperate with other churches to send trained missionaries all over the world.
“But seek his kingdom, and these things will be provided for you. Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.
1 John 1:3 (CSB)
3 what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
The key ingredient to the Kingdom is Fellowship
the word koinōnia is the greek word for fellowship.
The greek word encompasses more than just the simple word of fellowship.
It includes Sharing, Contribution, Partnership, Participation.
the advance of the kingdom is not a Competition. FBC Dime Box is not competeing FBC Caldwell or Giddings.
We are all seeking to advance the kingdom of God.
one of the greatest examples of this i think of was with Rockhill and FBC Murchison when it came to Josh and Rose.
How do we share with body?
Romans 12:13 (CSB)
13 Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.
We grieve with one another
How do we contribute?
It is more than just money
How do we partner ?
we partner with Sam Gwen Craig in supporting their ministries.
FBC Cladwell partners with us to do a VBS.
How are we Participating in the body of Christ?
The fellowship of the church is based upon the personal intimate fellowship of the individual believer.
