The Story: Week 14

Recap

God has come to earth in the form of a man named Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus has begun his ministry and challenged the forces of darkness face to face.

12 disciples have been chosen, men to whom the spread of the Kingdom of Heaven would be entrusted.

Jesus has been traveling the countryside teaching, healing, and casting out demonic spirits.

Many are amazed by Him and beginning to trust in Him.

But the forces of darkness will not take this invasion laying down.

By strengthening a misunderstanding of the levitical law.

The religious leaders of the time, a group called the pharisees, have taken note of Jesus actions and claims.

Instead of receiving Jesus with hope and faith, many of them plot to destroy Jesus.

But to do this, they face a problem.

They cannot pin anything truly illegal on Jesus.

And even if they could, Jesus is gathering a following.

A large following.

And so, for the time, all they can do is watch and wait.

Meanwhile, Jesus is continuing to do what He set out to do.

Liberate the captives, heal the broken, restore right relation between God and man, and thus usher in the Kingdom of God.
