TORAH : NUMBERS 19:1-25:9|
PROPHETS : MICAH 5:6-6:8|
GOSPEL : JOHN 19:38-42; MATTHEW 21:1-11
Numbers 21:17–18 LEB
17 Then Israel sang this song, “Arise, well water! Sing to it! 18 Well water that the princes dug, that the leaders of the people dug, with a staff and with their rods.” And from the desert they continued to Mattanah,
the word used for dug also means “inscribe or decree” (Bim’Chochech) where we get the term Chukkat from
Question: Should we follow Commandments only if we understand them or not? . Mishpatim (Judgments/Ordinances) are rational and understandable, while Chochim(Decrees/Statutes) are not logical and are very confusing initially. In some cases, it only becomes understood after its being practiced. Example
The High Priest who is present for the sacrifice becomes unclean, the one who handles the ashes becomes unclean, the High Priest who sprinkles the ashes with the living water becomes unclean, yet the one who gets sprinkled with the ashes becomes clean from coming into contact with the Dead??? WHAT?!?!?!?! (Paradoxically, Touching the ashes which purify someone from contact with death makes the person unclean for a day, while any other biblically prescribed sacrifice doesn’t make the priest unclean… why?)
Red Heifer Sacrifice - Removes Spiritual impurity (Strange Chok - Decree/Statute)
Yeshua and the Wedding at Cana - John 2:6
John 2:6 LEB
6 Now six stone water jars were set there, in accordance with the ceremonial cleansing of the Jews, each holding two or three measures.
Commentary that these jugs held the ashes of the red heifer, while another commentary states that it simply held living water so that people can wash their hands (Purifying their hands ritually). but if it held the Ashes of the red Heifer, we’re talking 20-30 gallons worth of ashes per jug! And Yeshua turning water into wine from those jugs would be very prophetic in connection with the 3rd cup on Passover… The Cup of the New Covenant, ratified by the blood of Yeshua
Hebrews 9:13–14 LEB
13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled sanctify them for the ritual purity of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?
Jugs which held the waters of purification (Ashes of the Red Heifer - or the water thereof) - Connection with His Blood, which will cleanse our Conscience from dead works - Numbers 19:14-20
Numbers 19:14–20 LEB
14 “ ‘This is the law of a person who dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent and all who are in the tent will be unclean seven days. 15 Every container that is opened that does not have a lid cord on it is unclean. 16 Anyone in the open field who touches one who has been slain, or a corpse, or a bone of a person, or a burial site, he will be unclean for seven days. 17 For the unclean person they will take from the powder of the burnt purification offering, and they will put running water into a container. 18 A clean person will take hyssop and dip it into the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the objects and persons who were there, and on one who touched the bone, or the one slain, or the dead, or the burial site. 19 The clean person will spatter the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he will purify him, and he will wash his garments; he will bathe in the waters, and in the evening he will be clean. 20 But the man who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person will be cut off from the midst of the assembly because he defiled the sanctuary of Yahweh; the water of impurity was not sprinkled on him; he is unclean.
V 20. “Defiled the Sanctuary of God”
Question: sprinkled on the 3rd and 7th day: If a person only got sprinkled on the 3rd day, or only on the 7th day, are they considered clean, even if the ashes were sprinkled on them on one of those days? Why? Like the Dietary instructions, both conditions have to be met (Split hoof and chewing the Cud)
Spiritual impurity? (New Age and Grave Soaking - Unmarked Graves - Only cleaned by the Purification Waters on the 3rd and 7th Day) - 3 is Divinity, 7 is Fullness, Living Waters -Torah, the Ashes - Yeshua’s Sacrifice —> Unless a person allows themselves to be cleaned by all of these Factors, they will not be entirely purified…
at the end of Numbers 16 and 17, after the rebellion of Korach, unlike the situation of the Golden Calf, and the Sin of the 12 spies, it doesn’t say that God forgave their murmurings and rebellion, unlike the other times when it says, “so God relented his anger”… in Numbers 16, Aaron had to run out with incense to stop a plague from God from spreading further, when Aaron stood between the Living and the Dead”… and Israel basically saying, “we are Doomed!” at the end of chapter 17. then chapter 19 speaks of the Red Heifer Sacrifice, some time passes, and then the 20th chapter speaks of the death of Miriam and later, Aaron. Why? What’s the connection with the Red Heifer sacrifice, and the death of Miriam and Aaron?
“The death of the Righteous atones for the sins of that Generation” - Conditional - IF you live the lifestyle as that Righteous individual did, otherwise there isn’t atonement - We shouldn’t claim Yeshua’s sacrifice and Lifestyle over our lives IF we DO NOT WALK as He walked. “Pick up your Cross”… Excuses and living to Die…
End of chapter 19 and the start of chapter 20, guess how much time passed between these two verses?? 38 Years!! on year 2 is when the sin of the 12 spies, Korach, Miriam getting Tzara’at happened… then 38 years later, it talks about when Miriam dies… What happened for those 38 years??? (Jewish Commentary says that God didn’t talk to Israel, and the Generation of Moses who was supposed to die in the wilderness, were living their lives ready to die… Digging their Graves every 9th of Av, and the next year, repeating that same process over and over again, until they were the next group that didn’t wake up the next day… Mindset, and living as a victim (Experiment with the scar on your face) how about our lives?
