Mark 6:45-52

Mark 6, John 6, Matthew 14
Mark 6:45–52 (ESV)
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46 And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray. 47 And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land.
48 And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, 50 for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52 for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.
Mark 6:45 (ESV)
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.
God sends us into some STORMS!
SOME STORMS: physical, mental, EMOTIONAL (MARRIED TO ONE)
Try so hard to get OUT of the storms ,when God’s trying to get us to learn something FROM the storm.
CELEBRATE JUST SURVIVING!!!
THRIVE, not by just surviving but by being a student. Ask the hard questions. Seek the answers. Mt 6:33
Mark 6:46–48 (ESV)
46 And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray. 47 And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. 48 And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them.
JESUS…PERFECT, SINLESS......
James 5:16 The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
You can HURT your prayer life, or you can HELP your prayer life!
The way you LIVE effects the LIFE you’ll have.
IMPORTANT THINGS ARE WORTH REPEATING
5 THINGS THAT CAN HINDER PRAYER
SIN
Psalm 66:18 ni
18 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
SELFISH
James 4:2–3 (ESV)
2 … “you do not have, because you do not ask. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”
RELATIONSHIPS
1 Peter 3:7 ESV
7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
FAITH
James 1:6–7 ESV
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
UNFORGIVENESS
Jesus said, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (Mark 11:25 NIV).

HIS TIMING IS PERFECT!!! BUT OFTEN HE SEEMS LATE!!
GOD’S goal ultimately isn’t to simply COMFORT us,
but to CHANGE us!!!!
AND HE SAW: sees you struggling.....Jesus is coming
James 1:2–4 ESV
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Mark 6:48–49 (ESV)

THE PLAN HADN’T CHANGED. JUST BECAUSE OF A STORM. IT’S LATE. THEYRE TIRED. THE PLAN IS STILL THE SAME....GET TO THE OTHER SIDE!!!
THE PLAN HASN’T CHANGED!
GET TO THE OTHER SIDE!
Psalm 23:4 (ESV)

I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
