Isaiah 32 NIV

1 See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice. 2 Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. 3 Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. 4 The fearful heart will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear. 5 No longer will the fool be called noble nor the scoundrel be highly respected. 6 For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil: They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord; the hungry they leave empty and from the thirsty they withhold water. 7 Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just. 8 But the noble make noble plans, and by noble deeds they stand. 9 You women who are so complacent, rise up and listen to me; you daughters who feel secure, hear what I have to say! 10 In little more than a year you who feel secure will tremble; the grape harvest will fail, and the harvest of fruit will not come. 11 Tremble, you complacent women; shudder, you daughters who feel secure! Strip off your fine clothes and wrap yourselves in rags. 12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vines 13 and for the land of my people, a land overgrown with thorns and briers— yes, mourn for all houses of merriment and for this city of revelry. 14 The fortress will be abandoned, the noisy city deserted; citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever, the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks, 15 till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. 16 The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert, his righteousness live in the fertile field. 17 The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. 18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. 19 Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely, 20 how blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream, and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.

15 till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest.

Main Point message possibly:

Righteousness and justice are found in multiple verses, always followed with a reference to peace and security that Zion will enjoy under the righteous King.

His strong protection is found in verses filled with encouraging and comforting terms such as “Shelter, Refuge, shadow of a great rock, quietness, and confidence, saftey, quietly at home, and be at rest.”

a call to peace, a place of rest, it may be temporary, but its rest, come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest [matt 11 28-29]

A king. John 10: 10

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

2. Each one 32:2 “each” in this context and even usage actually “downplays” the wording, because it references other “roles” rather than king and princes.

אִישׁ can be described as a man, a people, prophets and anything having to do with divine revelation.

A King: Psalm 149 2

I myself am in the middle of what i dare not say i understand the full weight of this loss, im living terrified in the middle of my uncle whom passed away this past week. Shocking, quickly, and too soon. I wanted a miracle for His glory, I wanted a miracle for his sons and daughters, his friends and family.

But he went on without us, to soon. But im not the maker, im not the author, however, I know the maker, the creator, the alpha, the omega, the omnipitent God I serve has a plan.

And with the rest of my family, the rest of his children, although i do not bare the weight many feel today, Ive allowed the enemy to get a seat of darkness over me, Its not disappearing through prayer, it hasnt gone through fasting, this darkness hasnt caused me to slip up in faith, or to spiral of a deep end,

This darkness however, sat over me, and i felt helpless, it was more than mourning although that was present,

A darkness, And the only thing on Thursday night staying awake as long as I could because i couldnt sleep, i didnt want to sleep.

I recieved this spirit of fear, one that would cause me to continue to quote psalm 91 9 over me.

Worship music didnt make it disapate.

The only thing i could do literally, was to read.

I tried to cry, i tried to whin about my hurt,

Nothing would disapate this darkness except when i would read the word.

So Thursday afternoon into the early hours of the morning i listen to the exact same song. a 5 minute .02 second song. Reading random bits and pieces of the bible. Going back and forth, diving deeper and deeper.

not knowing that the word i was about to recieve would be the very thing i needed and i would teach just a few days later.

Lord be with me.

Do this with me as i read, focus on the descriptions and understand this…you got nothing to do with it. God handles it all. Lets check this out.

This past friday i went to chickfil a got me and the kids some food on the way to the church and gave the kids there chicken and fries and chickfila sauce. Miyara finished her food and i gave her a napkin and asked if titus was done with his food she said no he still has food left but he is making a HUGE mess.

I had to make a stop at fedex to see if i could pick up a package I needed to get, and in doing all that, i see titus’ hands are completely sticky…they were a mess.

However i rationalized in my mind ahh if i clena him up he still have food to finish he will make a big mess again. Mind as well wait till i get to church.

left fed ex got to the church. and the mess that was originated on his hands transfered to everything he touched. His seat, the door, his hair, i mean everywhere his arms could reach got into contact with that mess.

Even unawareingly so our mess our mistakes, our lies, can reach a level of no turning back.

At that point there was no shower or bath i could run home and give him, he was with me the rest of the day, he would have to live life in that mess.

see the longer you sit in a mess, the more and more you get desenseatized to it.

When you become desenseatized to it you begin to live in it as if its not that big of a deal, you dress it up, you live life, and your life gets more complex, more revolving doors and you dont realize it, you didnt mean for it to become what it is, but now you are in a society built off a mess you never dealt with.

I learned these two things, a little issue can amount to a large one very quickly given circumstances.

and i have a bad tendancy of letting things get to a point of no turning back.

If i would have cleaned his hands he may have gotten his hands dirty, but he wouldnt have clapped his hands and flung sauce on the windows, or his hair, or toys. It could have been contained but i let it run wild waiting for the time that was more convientet to me.

I remember a time where i was...

its not always a bad thing however.

We were on our trip at universal sitting on the bus and our dear friend and youth pastor was being himself when he struck a conversation up with a family whom just moved down from jersey and moved to south carolina…mind you we are in florida.

Not only do they live in south carolina but they live in lexington…more specifically redbank..there kids go to white knoll. Crazy world…but the matrix broke...

We werent suppose to be there.

Mis placed things arent what im talking about. Lost things arent what were talking about.

Undealt with things. Thats what were doing here.

Today i want to read to you our of Isaiah if you can flip there with me in your bibles and go to chapter 32.

Isaiah brings a message of encouragement. One that was needed.

You ever sit back and realize everything going on. Like you see stuff, you hear it, but have you ever sat back and realized it.

Definition of Realize is to become fully aware of something as a fact; understanding it clearly.

God is speaking here about a beauty thing that is to come one day. A entirely new society.

Isaiah is speaking to his people whom are sitting in darkness, fully alone, & under a load of pressures, a darkness which would require deliverance from a hand much larger than mans.

Jotham whom was king prior to this chapter wrote about how Jerusalem was strong in material things but corrupt in her values and her adherence to Yahweh.

As Isaiah is a prophet whom loves Jerusalem, and has gone back and forth up onto this point of adoration for the coming of a savior chapters 7-9 and praises to God, but has also gone in on prophetic words against opposing nations and even a prophetic word against jerusalem…which to Isaiah was the focal point of which all God’s people should be paying attention..

here he has gone on for six chapters now about the pressures and darkness that was coming over israel. however in the middle of this he takes a break and speaks on whats to come.

Living in a society of trouble.

How many of us can be in the middle of something but yet NOT find the moment to stop and focus on the coming of the Glory.

I pray you receive sight.

We must be able to see the Glory of God entering into our lives from afar.

If you cant then id come before the altar today and ask where faith has gone.

For faith is confidence is whom we believe and an assurance He will show up, weather physically we see Him move or not. We believe…that all things are in the control and mercy of God.

Read vs 9 and 10.

They found complacency....

This is what i need us to see to grab a hold of this passage.

“we all want peace in our lifes but we instead give weight to complacency…ahh this is good enough . all this is where ill do my life for now.…we all want to find peace but give into complacency ....too often do i find complacency rather than the peace from God.”

Speak first on where this is being said.

then transfer the knowledge into a wisdom word for this morning.

What he brings vs what is being brought now

why did the thorns and briers come up?

isnt it interesting that when assyrian empire took over that Jerusalem didnt flourish and grow more..but the fields became desolate and barren producing thorns and thistles.

realize this “ when your enemy comes to take over a portion of your life there wont be growth, it wont even be stagnant. because the resources you once had, the growth you once were blessed with will be taken and you will be left with nothing. “

again “the enemy separates you from the blessings of God, by filling you with complacency
