In the 1963 classic film The Great Escape, a group of allied POWs plan to escape Nazi guards by digging three tunnels under the camp in effort to reach freedom. That great story, however, is not THE great escape, for a far greater one is told from our text this Sunday—a text which dramatically pictures a fearing people who stand and watch as their God powerfully works to free them. Consider your own former captivity to sin and how God just as powerfully delivered you to forever freedom in Jesus!
