review:
step 1 – we PERCEIVE by SEEING – the Bible is the TEXT-book (from God’s Mouth to your HEAD)
· look with your EYES
step 2 – we RECEIVE by HEARING – The Spirit is the TEACHER (from your HEAD to your HEART)
· listen with your HEART
Explain the NEED to receive:
sitting in church is not enough to grow in God
reading the Bible is the first step, but many people read the Bible and they understood nothing.
They viewed the Bible as a book
Information revelation impartation
What why how
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone who read the Bible understood it completely? There would never be any disagreement or division or confusion
If you had a dollar for every opinion of the Bible, you’d be a rich person.
Since we can’t understand the Bible on our own, that is why we need teachers and tutors.
The Bible is the textbook.
Jesus is the author.
The Holy Spirit is the tutor.
Just as a college student has not handed a textbook and expected to teach himself simply by reading instead, the students giving a teacher to explain what the book says.
Likewise, we could read the Bible on our own And gain little such as mental assent or head knowledge.
Religion is nothing more than a misunderstanding of God’s word.
Men’s misinterpretation of God’s word, always leads to error, bias, pride and legalistic bondage
Religion centers, God around man’s opinion and assumptions and conclusions, versus what God originally said.
There are many (most?) things that will NEVER be understood without the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment.
Optional examples of spiritual understanding
· The apostle Peter heard the great commission given to him by Jesus to preach the Gospel to every nation, he still did not understand the WILL of God wanted to use him to reach the non-Jewish world until the SPIRIT of God showed him in an open vision found in Acts chapter 10.
· The apostle John did not understand Jesus was the head of all the New Testament churches until his eyes were opened to see Jesus walking among the seven lamp stands found in Revelation chapter 1.
· The prophet Daniel did not understand the prophecies of Jesus toppling and replacing all the world empires until an angel showed him.
How do we Receive?
MEDIATION of the SPIRIT
We need to lean upon the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us in the whole truth

The HOLY Spirit teaches YOUR spirit

1 Corinthians 2:11–16 (NLT)
1 Corinthians 2:11–16 NLT
11 No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. 12 And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. 13 When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. 14 But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. 15 Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. 16 For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

We LEARN God’s Word by the HOLY SPIRIT

First, The Holy Spirit helps get the Word in you by learning
First we should ask, Why did God say this in the Bible?
Example - the Bible text says: “you shall lend and not borrow
Human reasoning - no loans? No house!
Then the Holy Spirit helps get the word out of you by bringing the remembrance
Jesus said The Holy Spirit is a spring of water inside of us.
The Holy Spirit springs up the Word when we need an answer.
The Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance the right scripture at the right time providing the answer.
At this point, we should ask Why is God saying this to me now?
As you, pray, the Holy Spirit, bubbling up inside of you will turn God’s information into divine revelation.
The Spirit is the well, but Prayer primes the pump!
For example while I was praying about God’s command in Deuteronomy, where it said you shall land and not not borrow, I believe the Holy Spirit spoke to me, and said God meant that you will be so blessed that you will have a surplus of cash to lend to others in need , and not ever need to borrow from anyone.
What was the result of this revelation? Freedom and joy and peace!
John 14:15–17 (NLT)
John 14:15–17 NLT
15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
John 14:26 (NLT)
John 14:26 NLT
26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
We need the Holy Spirit as TEACHER
Cannot handle it now - I will pray the Lord to send you the Helper
The SPIRIT of Truth TEACHES the Truth
John 16:12–14 (NLT)
John 16:12–14 NLT
12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.

We learn God’s Word by PRAYER for understanding

· for comprehension of revelation.
· Understand why you see - heard
the Ephesians prayer – is a prayer for comprehension
Ephesians 1:16–20 (NLT)
Ephesians 1:16–20 NLT
16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. 19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
· The Apostle Paul is praying the church would actually understand what God said!
Ephesians prayer
· Revolutionized dad, Hagin’s ministry.
· Prayed daily for 6 months
· His eyes were opened to the deeper truths of God’s Word. Greater understanding. Deeper level
Your personal prayer for revelation:
· Lay hand on Bible- pray for understanding
· Pray in the Holy Spirit- with interpretation! this is why the church NEEDS the gifts of the Holy Spirit

Pray for revelation of the Information

Pray for revelation
· If you don’t know what to pray, pray in the Holy Spirit.
· If you’re not filled with the Holy Spirit, pray to be filled!
Sermons are to be Supernatural
· you Should be praying to get revelation while you’re listening to the sermon.
· I pray to give revelation while both preparing for and preaching the sermon.
· A Sermon is like a puzzle.
· The bullet points and Scriptures are the pieces but the Spirit knows where each one goes!
· Good News! – A.I. stands no chance against divine inspiration!
· ARTIFICIAL IS NO MATCH TO THE SUPERNATURAL
The Word is the WHAT but the Spirit is the WHY
When they come together, it makes a beautiful picture of God’s plan, purpose and will for your life and others!
This way we all win!
We learn!
The Spirit is blessed
And God gets His way-
His kingdom comes and His will is finally done!
