Modern ministries that use modern versions:

They are ecumenical in nature

They are financially motivated

They are spiritually bankrupt

They are physically sold out

Here we want to look at the INGREDIENTS of perverted versions.

I. The Praise of Perverted Versions.

The NIV (“Morning Star” Isaiah 14:12; Col 1:14)

Isaiah 14:12 KJB How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! howart thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:12 NIV How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Revelation 22:16 KJB I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

The NASB (John 1:18)

The NKJV (“rivulet” Ezek 31:4)

II. The Product of Perverted Versions.

The lifestyles of the carnal Christians.

Note that in 1 Timothy 3 we have the:

Qualifications of Pastors. vs.1-7

Qualifications of Deacons. vs.8-10, 12

Qualifications of wives of both. v.11

Then in vs.14-15 we are told that the reason we get these instructions so we will know “how to behave thyself in the house of God”

In 1 Timothy 4 we have the product of these perversions:

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

The lasciviousness of the carnal Christians.

“lasciviousness” - showing a desire for, or unseemly interest in, sex

Galatians 5:19 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

1 Timothy 3:16 (context is v.15) Note that vs.7 and 13 tie vs.15-16 with the first 7 verses
