Prelude
Prelude
Good afternoon. On behalf of Carol’s family, her two sisters Joyce and Maxine, and her dear friends Missy, Lynn, and Barbara, and her church family of Victory Bible Church I want to welcome you. Today is a time where there will be memories, tears, smiles, and laughter. It will be a time when we can begin the healing process as we reflect on our sister, friend, and neighbor, Carol Berger. Let us open with a word of prayer

Scripture Reading: Psalm 95 and Psalm 96
Scripture Reading: Psalm 95 and Psalm 96
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness, When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.” Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord. For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.

Thank you for sharing your memories of Carol. I first met Carol here a little over five years when I did the funeral for Pastor Ron Radtke. Carol had a bright smile and a wonderful laugh that would brighten any place she was in.
Rocky the squirrel
Telling about the animals she would see (Bear, Skunk, Squirrels)
Telling about the history of the church before it was Victory Bible Church. The Welsh Congregational United Church of Christ.
Reading the Bible. We read through the New Testament in 2020 and she went back to the Old Testament in her Bible and was reading it through. She loved reading it.
Going to see David last October. What a blessing that was for me.
Jesus Christ. Carol knew Him. The Sunday before she passed going to her hospital room and reading those Psalms we read earlier and praying with her. I prayed for wisdom and discernment for the doctors treating her and after the prayer she said that the Bible and prayers from me were just as important as the doctors and nurses.
Do you know Jesus Christ? Not just about Him, but a personal relationship.

Scripture Reading: Psalm 23
Scripture Reading: Psalm 23
A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
