  After these things  I saw         four        angels    standing    at   the       four

1 Καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον τέσσαρας ἀγγέλους ἑστῶτας ἐπὶ τὰς τέσσαρας

corners of the earth,  holding      the       four        winds  of the earth, that the wind

γωνίας τῆς γῆς κρατοῦντας τοὺς τέσσαρας ἀνέμους τῆς γῆς, ἵνα μὴ πνέῃ

should not blow on the earth, on  the        sea,          or     on  any    tree.
ἄνεμος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, μήτε ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης, μήτε ἐπὶ πᾶν δένδρον.

Then I saw  another angel         ascending   from      the       east,    having    the seal of the

2 καὶ εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον ἀναβαίνοντα ἀπὸ ἀνατολῆς ἡλίου, ἔχοντα σφραγῖδα

living    God.   And he cried with a loud voice to the four      angels to whom it was granted

Θεοῦ ζῶντος· καὶ ἔκραξε φωνῇ μεγάλῃ τοῖς τέσσαρσιν ἀγγέλοις, οἷς ἐδόθη

to           harm       the earth and  the       sea,

αὐτοῖς ἀδικῆσαι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν,

  saying,   Do  not harm   the  earth,          the      sea,           or     the trees       till   we

3 λέγων, Μὴ ἀδικήσητε τὴν γῆν, μήτε τὴν θάλασσαν, μήτε τὰ δένδρα ἄχρις οὗ

 have  sealed     the    servants  of    our    God   on           their      foreheads.

σφραγίσωμεν τοὺς δούλους τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων αὐτῶν.

And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand

4 καὶ ἤκουσα τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἐσφραγισμένων, ρμδ́ χιλιάδες, ἐσφραγισμένοι

of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:

ἐκ πάσης φυλῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ.

of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand 5 Ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰούδα, ιβ́ χιλιάδες ἐσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Ῥουβήν, ιβ́ χιλιάδες

were sealed;   of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed;

εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Γάδ, ιβ́ χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι·

of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand 6 Ἐκ φυλῆς Ἀσὴρ, ιβ́ χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Νεφθαλίμ, ιβ́ χιλιάδες

were sealed;   of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed;

εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Μανασσῆ, ιβ́ χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι·

of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand

7 Ἐκ φυλῆς Συμεών, ιβ́ χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Λευΐ, ιβ́ χιλιάδες,

 were sealed;    of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed;

εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰσαχάρ, ιβ́ χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι·

of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Joseph twelve

8 Ἐκ φυλῆς Ζαβουλών, ιβ́ χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰωσήφ, ιβ́

thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.
χιλιάδες εσφραγισμένοι· Ἐκ φυλῆς Βενιαμίν, ιβ́ χιλιάδες ἐσφραγισμένοι.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one

9 Μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ, ὄχλος πολύς, ὃν ἀριθμῆσαι αὐτὸν οὐδεὶς

could number, of all   nations,       tribes,     peoples, and tongues,    standing before

ἠδύνατο, ἐκ παντὸς ἔθνους καὶ φυλῶν καὶ λαῶν καὶ γλωσσῶν, ἑστῶτες ἐνώπιον

the throne   and    before   the  Lamb,    clothed with      white      robes,    with τοῦ θρόνου καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἀρνίου, περιβεβλημένοι στολὰς λευκάς, καὶ

palm branches in    their    hands,

φοίνικες ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν·

   and crying out   with a loud voice, saying,    Salvation  belongs to our God

10 καὶ κράζοντες φωνῇ μεγάλῃ, λέγοντες, Ἡ σωτηρία τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν τῷ

who sits      on    the throne, and to the Lamb!

καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου, καὶ τῷ ἀρνίῳ.

              All       the angels   stood         a round  the  throne and  the   elders living

11 καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄγγελοι ἑστήκεσαν κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων

and  the    four    creatures, and   fell        on    their     faces    before     the     throne

καὶ τῶν τεσσάρων ζώων, καὶ ἔπεσον ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν,

and      worshiped         God,
καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ Θεῷ,

        saying:   Amen! Blessing    and   glory and   wisdom,       Thanksgiving  and

12 λέγοντες, Ἀμήν. ἡ εὐλογία καὶ ἡ δόξα καὶ ἡ σοφία καὶ ἡ εὐχαριστία καὶ ἡ

honor and   power and   might,      Be to our God          forever    and     ever.     Amen.

τιμὴ καὶ ἡ δύναμις καὶ ἡ ἰσχὺς τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων. ἀμήν.

  Then   one of     the     elders      answered, saying to me, Who are these arrayed

13 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη εἷς ἐκ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, λέγων μοι, Οὗτοι οἱ περιβεβλημένοι

in    white      robes,    and  where did   they  come from?

τὰς στολὰς τὰς λευκὰς, τίνες εἰσὶ, καὶ πόθεν ἦλθον;

And    I said    to him, Sir,    you know. So he said to me, These are the ones who come out

14 καὶ εἴρηκα αὐτῷ, Κύριέ, σὺ οἶδας. καὶ εἶπέ μοι, Οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἐρχόμενοι ἐκ

of    the great       tribulation, and  washed  their robes   and   made them  white

τῆς θλίψεως τῆς μεγάλης, καὶ ἔπλυναν τὰς αὐτὰς, καὶ ἐλεύκαναν στολὰς

in   the      blood     of  the Lamb.
αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ αἵματι τοῦ ἀρνίου.

Therefore   they are  before    the  throne  of     God,  and        serve      Him     day

15 διὰ τοῦτό εἰσιν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ Θεοῦ, καὶ λατρεύουσιν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας

And  night   in    His     temple. And He who sits   on  the   throne  will dwell among them.

καὶ νυκτὸς ἐν τῷ ναῷ αὐτοῦ· καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου σκηνώσει ἐπ ̓ αὐτούς.

They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them,

16 οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι, οὐδὲ διψήσουσιν ἔτι, οὐδὲ μὴ πέσῃ ἐπ ̓ αὐτοὺς ὁ ἥλιος,

nor   any    heat;
οὐδὲ πᾶν καῦμα·

    for   the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead

17 ὅτι τὸ ἀρνίον τὸ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θρόνου ποιμανεῖ αὐτούς, καὶ ὁδηγήσει

them to  living  fountains of waters.  And  God   will  wipe away every tear  from

αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ ζωσας πηγὰς ὑδάτων, καὶ ἐξαλείψει ὁ Θεὸς πᾶν δάκρυον ἀπὸ τῶν

   their       eyes.

ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν.
