Psalm 121

Psalm 121 “A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”
What a powerful message from Psalm 121, we know that our help comes from the Lord. This is our last episode in the Psalms and it gives us a powerful message. We know that we can rely on our great God for everything. He will care for us and provide for us and when it is our time he calls us home. We can trust that we are right where we need to be and that everything is going perfect according to his plan.
A lot of times we find that we are not trusting in God as much as we should. I am just as guilty of this as anyone. We think that we got this yet we neglect to rely on God over our own skill. I can only imagine the amount of anxiety and fear that would go away if we truly believed that our help comes from God at all times.
Whenever I read this psalm it makes me want to sing because some of the songs that are based off of it and it renews a spirit of trust in the Lord within me. I can know that when I lift my eyes up to the heavens that I know just where my help comes from and that is my awesome God.
