Introduction
Having seen that salvation is more than the plan (hear, beleive, repent, confess and be baptized), we move on to something deeper.
This will still move us to hold on to our salvation even more, and APPRECIATE it more than before.
This will change us and transform us (a thought we develop later on in this series)
Our Text
Our Text
Eph 1:1-5 “Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before [Him. In love] He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,”
Eph 1:11 “also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,”

Exegesis
Exegesis
Eph 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”
God is blessed - adjective, God worth speaking well off
God blessed us - verb, God has acted in a way that’s beneficial to us
With every spiritual blessing - noun, the product of that kindness is a blessing
Eph 1:4 “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love”
The reason God does this is because God loved us and chose us before He made the world
Chose us? Does God determine who? I believe God knows who.
God chose the means by which this would be dispensed, when I submit to it, I’m CHOSEN.
God who is blessed, blessed us with BLESSINGS
God who is blessed, blessed us with BLESSINGS

#1 ADOPTION
The phrase employed by Paul means “to seat/set one as a son”

Adoption is a position of grace not a right
Adoptions affords us a new identity
Adoption speaks to God’s purpose. God was intentional when He decided to adopt you.
Sin robbed us of our blessing and priveleges, adoption is how we get it back
Sin robbed us of our blessing and priveleges, adoption is how we get it back
Adoption has a three-fold look
